I recently installed NR2k3 and added some tracks into the "tracks" folder. Whenever I go to load NR2k3 they don't appear.

What do I do?

In the /tracks folder, is the directory name the same as the .dat file. Also, are the files in one folder

e.g.

mytrack.dat
NR2003/tracks/mytrack
if it's in tracks/mytrack/mytrack, it won't show up at all

if it isn't, it won't show up

That doesn't make sense. It's just supposed to go the tracks folder and not all those extensions.

That's what I said

The track folder itself has to have the same name as the track DAT, else it won't load.

Also, if there's a folder within the track folder with the track files...no loading

I know of a few tracks that have their extractions in a two folder system

Like....

tracks\test\test\test.dat

I've run into that a lot of times. trying to think of a less techie way to say it, but all I can think of is folder in a folder

I finally have a bit of a system down w/ installing them. Oddly enough copy and pasting the extracted folder (which worked on my old computer fine) won't do it anymore, they need to be extracted directly to my tracks folder.

Thanks for the help guys.

Not sure if this is what you were experiencing, but I have noticed sometimes when I am installing a track it may have double folders and that causes the track to not show up. What I mean, is, take for example.. I don't know.. ORP07. I extract it or paste it to my tracks folder and it doesn't show up.

So I go to the track folders, see ORP07 there, and figure it should show up. So I click the ORP07 folder and inside that folder is another orp07 folder, and that folder actually has the track information in it. So I have to move that folder to the tracks folder instead.

Seems kind of confusing and I am not sure how it happens because it does not happen on all tracks, but it has happened on some.

The Windows extractor automatically puts what you're extracting into a folder of the same name as the .zip file. Because most tracks already come with their own folder, this creates the "double folder".
I usually just extract right to my track folder.
