The entire development team did a tremendous job on this mod. The models look great and all of the little details like the rear view mirrors, dashes, cockpits, .... pretty much everything.... just add to the overall quality. Frames rates are superb. Thank you all for a job very well done. (y)

Question. First, I have not had a chance to download the new mod just yet. From the pictures that I have seen and the comments that are here I am sure that this mod is awesome. One of the guys from the online league that we race in tried it out. He said there was no visible damage on the rear. I was wondering if anybody else had experienced this? Thanks.

There's damage but it is very minimal, similar to CWS13, possibly even less.

I disagree. The damage is pretty good. You just need to wreck good enough lol. I think it's a huge improvement from CWS13. I think it's a great mod and I can't wait for more trucks for the mod to come out.

I'll add my $.02 to this discussion and say thanks to Team Om3gA for another awesome truck mod! Smoke and the gang really knocked it out of the park again. As others have said, to think that these trucks were going to be originally used for rFactor 2, I am extremely grateful to people like Smoke who donate their time to helping keep this nearly 12-year-old racing sim alive and well.

Thanks again for another fantastic truck mod!

Anyone know if CarViewer files are available? Didn't see them on the website.

I don't really plan on crashing nor racing anymore after I've crashed so damage isn't really a big deal to me.

I primarily race online now and my buddy's PC can't take damage so we run with it off. Fine with me.

From what i've seen, this mod is amazing. It may not have the best damage model (I personally don't know, i haven't been able to use it yet) but just be grateful you even have the chance to use it at all.

The damage you see in game is controlled by the game, the mod maker sets undamaged and wrecked models, and the game does the rest, it calculates the weight of things and decided how much damage it shown between point a and point b, so drive into the wall at the same speed twice in a row, and the game will likely never show you the same level of damage each time.

That's the basics of it, but it's a whole lot deeper than that, there are a ton of variables that go into things so the mere fact that the cars are ingame and working at all is a minor miracle, remember had it been up to certain people we wouldn't even be free to do this, but a nice Judge effectively said you can't put the genie back into the bottle on that one and so we can put new models and tracks in game whenever we want to.

Rear end damage is particularly hard to achieve for reasons that I won't bore you with, it's 90% out of the mod makers control and generally unless you get the planets lined up correctly, win the lottery and spot santa clause all at the same time you're not going to get the back of the car/truck caving in like they do in real life, it's simply how the game works.

Having said that, I do think some people could be a little less slap happy over stuff, let's remind ourselves what the guy said:

There's damage but it is very minimal, similar to CWS13, possibly even less.

I might be thick but I don't see anywhere there where he said anything like, it's shit, I can do better, blah blah blah, he just said there is damage but it's minimal, yet for some reason this one comment send a fair few people into a frenzie that could be compared to a bunch of blind monkeys trying to play football. Ironic that the most mature post over the last few pages was done by an 18 year old, and yet, when someone mentions tyres, oh no problem, Alan will fix that.

What the fuck people? come on get some perspective, I'm sure Smoke is capable of fighting his own battles or responding how he likes, it does the community no good at all when the world and his wife go apeshit at some kid just because he answers a question someone else posted, the question was answered 5 pages ago, why are you still whining about it? enjoy the mod for what it is, a great achievement.

Thread cleaned up. The mod announcement didn't deserve to be locked and put away.

Say your thanks and move on. Which is exactly what Alan asked you to do in the very first post.
