Can anyone explain to me why the AI can not pit? They just swerve down towards the pits but they are way past it when they swerve. Also they just veer up on to the track and slam into other cars.

I love this version of the track, I've tried new lp files but thats the extent of my editing knowledge

Pitroad, Pitstalls, and Pit lp's HOW TO @NRTracks

[ pit_lane_0 ]
; AI section
merge_to_pit_line_dlong = 1255 ; was 1967.43 ; dlong at which cars entering pits will merge to pit line
merge_to_pit_line_length = 440 ; was 80.0 ; length of merge window

[ pit_lane_1 ]
; AI section
merge_to_pit_line_dlong = 210 ; was 646.363 ; dlong at which cars entering pits will merge to pit line
merge_to_pit_line_length = 270 ; was 80.0 ; length of merge window

This will get them into the pits.
However, the backstretch pits are problematic. The pit lane does not have a continuous Pit Road subsurface. This affects the ai's pit road speed, and worse, everybody gets a pit penalty for not exiting pit road properly (i.e. the car didn't stay on the pit road (sub)surface so it technically didn't exit off the end of pit road. You can't legally leave off the side of pit road, only the end.
The only fix is to modify the ptf so the pit road subsurface is continuous from pit road entry to exit.

The reference is to darlington_85_beta2 (dat file dated 12/24/2004).
The version darlington_85_beta (dat file dated 11/19/2004) is worse. It has the same problem as beta2, intermittent Pit Road subsurface for the backstretch pits ([ pit_lane_1 ]), but the pits on the frontstretch ([ pit_lane_0 ]) have no Pit Stall subsurface, so nobody gets service.

Which version of Darlington 85 are you using?

All it says is 2004 in the readme on the version i have. No exact date, but i will try the stuff you PM'd me and see which one fixes it. Thanks so much!

@Tom yeah, its good till it comes time for the AI to pit, cautions and non-pitting were completely outrageous.
