DAT file reader/editor

anyone know of a place to get a DAT file reader/editor?

I tried an open source site and all I ended up with was a crap ton of malware which I got rid of. Just wondering if someone here could point me in a direction that would steer clear of all that headache.

if you are trying to open NR2003 dat files then winmip2 will do that for you. It can unpack dat files.
