Sorry I'm a still a bit of a noob to the nr2003 mod scene. I was wondering which of the COT mods was better? What are some differences between the two. I know they have different templates....but how do they compare in things like damage models and fps?

thanks,

IMO the ss.net mod has a more realistic body style and damage models. FPS shouldn't be an issue either. I experienced maybe a 20% drop from the default cars. Nothing really noticeable.

Yes, the SS.net mod is the way to go. While both mods are well done, the SS.net mod has much cleaner models, with more levels of detail, and as DaveyFan said, a better damage model.

DN's mod was kind of a placeholder until SS.net released theirs.

In all honesty I haven't downloaded either (none of my leagues have switched, which is causing me to delay the change as well). But from what everyone is saying. the SS mod has far more realistic damage models, easier to paint templates (havent burned one out yet, so I dont know that for sure), but has a good drop in frame rates.

The Dan Nisbet mod has good models, but the damage model leaves a lot to be desired. However, the frame rate stays stagnant compared to the normal cup mod.

This is all speculation on my part however, based solely on community feedback I've read over the last few months.

I probably just quoted the above guys, but I tried to put my own spin on things. Sorry :( lol

The first couple hours the SS.net mod was out, there was a huge framerate drop. But the current version that's out & has been out for a while comes with a fix so now the framerate drop is marginal.

Of course, a lot depends on your system as well.

As DaveyFan28 said, it depends on your system....

My system:
Same frame rates...... (Really really bad computer) 5-15 FPS for both

Thanks for your imput guys. That clears things up a lot. I'll probably go with the ss.net mod.
