DNF List/Causes

Is there a full list of reasons that a car can retire from the race? I ask because I got a DNF for a 'puncture', something I hadn't ever seen before.

I also notice the ubiquitous "handling" is never a reason for a DNF.

well you're just in luck, completed a offline race here a few minutes ago and only 4 cars finished!:twitcy:

I have a bunch of plain old "accidents", put i also have PISTON, CAMSHAFT, HEADER, which i assume all mean that the engine took a dump, PUNCTURE like you had there, GEARBOX(thats mine)i uh started the race without 1st gear. i guess it doesn't matter how you actually don't finish the race, but if one of your gears quits, it will always put GEARBOX. online i know theres also DISCO which sadly doesn't mean there is beegee's music, but that the guy had that receive throughput thing. I'll gladly run another AI wreckfest and see if i get anything new lol:swoon:

All you had to do was look at the papy_ai lol.

(a failure not related to crash damage [i.e. a motor failing 10 laps later even with repairs] has a 0.0012% chance of happening to a specific car PER LAP, which means that with a full 43-car field running 100 laps, there's a 5.16% chance of a car having a failure during the race)

[In order from most frequent to least likely breakdown]
-Engine Failure 30%
-Tire Failure 25% [Causes enough damage to cause a DNF]
-Tire Problem 10% [Flat as opposed to actually exploding]
-Engine Problem 9% [Not necessarily enough to take you out, but you start streaming smoke]
-Brake Problem 5% (Not enough to take you out, but imagine a brake becoming soft basically)
-Oil Leak 5%
-Fuel System Failure 5%
-Suspension Problem 2% (Apparently a suspension issue that is fixable)
-Fuel System Problem 2% (Apparently a fuel system issue that is repairable)
-Brake Failure 2%
-Fuel Leak 2%
-Coolant Leak 2%
-Suspension Failure 1%

In addition, there seems to be a gradual brake wear code that is unused. (Set at 0% which means no brake wear, not sure if it affects just the ai or the player too)

One wierd one I've had is "Fuel Inj." I assume this means fuel injection, which last i check nascar doesn't have fuel injection yet...

I have also had DQ, but it was an AI car and not me, but it appears that the AI car in question did nothing wrong....

Strangely I can't find a more specific list but I know I've seen the following:
-DQ
-Disco (Disconnected)
-Ejected
-Banned (Well not seen per sae, but there's a command that perma-bans people online)
-Camshaft
-Header
-Gearbox
-Wheel
-Puncture (I assume as in a puncture of the engine/front)
And I THINK I've seen these but I'm not saying they are in the game for a fact:
-Axle
-A Frame (Heavily doubt it, probably am thinking of NASCAR.com's results page)
-Vibration
-Windshield

I've had Tire as a cause for me to be out of the race.

i've seen people online just not pit in time and cant make it back to the pits, and retire. it shows up as fuel

I run solely offline and I had one to go out as "No Fuel". I have no idea what that means as the driver was put out early in a 200 lap truck race. Send somebody down to the gas pumps to get some fuel for crying out loud! :err:
