do you remember your first race you ever saw?

hey guys, i thought it'd be interesting to post this thread. i want everyone to chime in on this.. can you remember the first race you ever saw? whether it was in person at the track, or on tv. if you can remember, tell us what race it was. ill start it off..the first race i ever saw was the 1999 Daytona 500..back when i was a young one. and if i recall right, i think jeff gordon won it..but im not too sure. i just remember it was the first race i ever saw. let me know which one it was for you!

I saw the last one-hundred or so laps of the 1997 NAPA 500, the first full race I saw was a Japan exhibition race, the first points race was the 1998 Daytona 500, when I became a Jeff Gordon fan.

The first race I went to live was the 2001 race at the Glen, Jeff Gordon won. I went to Pocono in 2002, which sucked because it was plagued with red flags, and the first oval I went to was Darlington in '05 where Biffle dominated and won.

First ever race i saw was a Nextel Cup race in 2004.
First ever full race 2008 Sprint Cup series can't remember which ones lol.
Now i'm hooked!

I've been watching Nascar on TV since the mid 80's,

but, the 1st race live, was June 14, 1998 the Miller 400 at Michigan.

And ironically Mark Martin won that day too.

I always enjoy these threads just to see how long someone's been watching NASCAR.

The first race I ever saw was the 1991 Champion Spark Plug 400 @ Michigan. Dale Jarrett (#21) beat Davey Allison (#28) to the line by about a foot.

What better way to get hooked to NASCAR than a photo finish. I was 6 years old. lol

First race I went to was the Samsung 500 in Texas in 2005. Biffle won. As a matter of fact, both races I've been to (Vegas last year) a Roush Ford has won....lol.

my first race was the 1998 atlanta race (on tv) and infineon in 2005 (live) jeff gordon (my favorite driver) has done horrible the only two times i've been 2 a live event and tony stewart has won them both!

My first race I watched was the 2003 Budweiser Shootout when Dale Jr. won. But my first full race was the 2003 Koolerz 300 at Daytona. Dale Jr. also won that race.

first ever nascar coverage i heard, not saw, was the tail end of the '01 daytona 500 post race. then i watched the last laps of the vegas race that year, and went to the pepsi 400 that year

For the first race I ever watched on TV, I believe it was some race somewhere in the middle of the 1992 season (I know I didn't start watching at the beginning of the season), so I was pretty much 4 or 5 right around then. I know the Watkins Glen race that year was among the first I saw, because I remember being happy that I finally saw the start of a Cup race. I watched off and on for the rest of the season, until the Hooters 500 at Atlanta, which I consider the first race I really truly followed closely, with the whole championship race going on during that, between Alan Kulwicki and Bill Elliott. I even recall the post-race interview with Jimmy Hensley about him winning Rookie of the Year.

In person, the first race I saw was the 1993 Laneco 200 at Nazareth (a BGN race; I've never seen a Cup race live, because I've only seen races in-person at Nazareth). Ward Burton ran well at the beginning of that race, but Robert Pressley won.

I think the first race I watched flag to flag was the Aaron's 499 at talladega in 2002, before then I watched on and off. My first live race was at Kansas the same year, Jeff Gordon won that one and he was and still is my favorite driver.
