i just started playing nr2003 and love it! right now i am using traction control and stabilitly control but how long should i use this to get a "feel" for this game? i am used to nascar racing 3. thanks calvin
Hey Calvin. I used driving aids for about 6 months before I slowly started to turn them off. Traction control is something you should be able to get rid of quickly with a good set of racing pedals.
Ever since I purchased a TSW steering wheel about 4 years ago, my lap times got right on par with the real life cup cars. You're steering wheel and pedal combo is the most important tool you can have.
That being said, since I've been running the Superspeedway.net COT mod, I've gone back to turning stability control on. Primarily because the COT cup cars are more stable and I get tired of the AI cars barely tapping me and getting spun out.
I still have to turn stability control off at tracks like Infineon, Watkins Glen, Bristol, Martinsville and Dover. Any track where I need to hang the car out to go fast. SC won't allow the car to go past a certain point and you are limited in the rotation of the car.
cool, thanks for the input when i get some more money saved up im gonna either get the tsw wheel or the new logitech 300 dollar wheel. right now i am using a thrustmaster nascar pro force feedback but using no feedback in the game. calvin
What I find helpful for begining is to setup up your car and run a few laps with the helpers on, the stop dont change anything setup wise and run again with the helpers off. when you spin off turn two FOR EXAMPLE you realize WHERE the helpers are kicking in, and alows you to either adjust your driving or make the right changes. Once you know where your car is loose etc. you can turn on the helpers for the big race with the knowledge of where your car is having problems and the confidence that you wont take out the whole field going into turn one.
If you´re using a keyboard its impossible to drive without traction control. Im doing it with traction control and without stability control, Im getting the hang of it.
