You know whats so funny about it. i have friends and her brother in law works for a place that is a toyota factory (making parts Wise) and all a long i used too get **** from them about not buying a toyota , I'm a Gm guy myself (loyal) and it would get kinda heated when we would discuss it . so one day were over at your friends and we had just bought our 2010 traverse . anyways they got into why didn't you get a yota and i said i would never own one period and american people need to open their eyes about toyota and read about them. so on to my next point and they started on me about them being the safest cars in the world and so on . it wasn't 2 days later you see the brakes and gas pedal problems and keep in mind these problems have went on for the for 8 years now . anyways so we have been over there and they were there and you know what their quite a frickin church mouses and wont even say even 2 words too me . and so how i am being a wise guy at times and had to listen to their crap for a few years about yota ,and just came out and said hmm it funny when people run their mouth and wont even drive a yota that they own , how ironic is that . i said i wouldn't drive it either , don't be embarrased by it , go ahead take it to the dealer and let them do the recall on it and you get it back and come to find out like alot of other people have , that the recalls aren't fixing the problem . but i said it okay you'll wake up one day and realize the truth about them . i would go ahead and keep on driving your mercury your in now ,but that's kinda funny too if toyota was so much better than the big 3 why are you in a mercury ????? and you know what no answer from them and they wouldn't even look at me . and i said i would be quite too and not try and stick your foot in your mouth .
just my tid bit about the situation.
but it kinda makes you wonder with all the toyota drivers in nascar... they might start blamin the wrecks on stickin gas or brake pedals *cough*michael waltrip *cough*
Anybody notice that the majority of people who get in these wrecks with stuck pedals are like 60 years old or older? And the guy with the Prius who made national news headlines the other week... well it turns out he was faking it trying to get money to pay off his bankrupt porn business.
Pinto's were known for their problems too and now decades later they are some of the most used entry-level circle track racecars out there. l0l
But hey Ford had those problems where they'd randomly catch fire burning down peoples houses.... That's kinda worse then people having to wheel a car for a bit when the throttle is stuck.
I will say this though, looking back from about the 2008 model years till present there are a hell of a lot of recalls for not only the "domestic" makes, but for a lot of the over-seas ones as well.
This throttle sticking problem isn't limited to 'Yotas, a Ford Explorer last year over here had its throttle stuck went 30 minutes on a freeway before he could stop.
'Yota only builds these ****boxes to fund their racing programme.
If only they one day brought out racing-inspired road cars.
i didnt know that bout the last guy but kinda ironic how he was fakin it and a patol car stopped him i can see it now a ricer goin down the highway toppin 85 maybe 90 and cop stops them and their only excuse is the gas is stuck.... what is this world comin to?

Ford Busses use the same throttle sensor setup thing that Toyota does too, there was something about it on the news when this whole mess first started, and strangely enough it hasn't really been mentioned since...
Does anybody remember a couple years apst when we had explorers rollingover and chrysler products that myseriously jumped out of neutral into a drive gear by themselves? And FYI I worked at Ford during the rollover and it wasnt just Firestone tires causing the problem, some dumbass engineer thought 26 psi in the tires was enough air.
