ESPN has always does this (get peoples names wrong, be stuck up with one driver, give false info, etc.). I absolutely can't wait to have Vince Welch in the booth again with Rusty Walrus and Ray Evernham ( they make so many mistakes that it actually get's funny instead of annoying :twitcy: ). Who the heck calls ORP a 6.86.6.86 mile track :err: ?! Along with Jerry Punch's "Heavy Contact"

And your point is.........what exactly?

A simple 'ESPN sucks' would suffice, but instead we have a grammatical nightmare which we have to try to decipher only to find that there is no actual meaning to the post anyway. Thank you so much for wasting the brainpower I expended on that, I can never gain those seconds of my life back. Which brings this back to ESPN coverage. I feel the same way about it.

I appreciate all the networks that cover Nascar. Yes, some do a better job than others but overall they all do a pretty decent job in covering the races. As you can see by my age, I can remember a time when the only coverage we had was a 1 to 2 week tape delay on Wide World of Sports, in between ping pong championships and arm wrestling!

10+ years ago no practice sessions were ever televised, and only a handful of qualifying's were on TV - none of which were any series besides Cup. NASCAR did just fine, and the TV coverage was fine.

I remember back in the pre 2007 era how I hated TNT/NBC and didn't like them commentating the reaces... Now I really miss them and FOX/FX covering all of the races... And I really miss the Busch series on FX...

Pretty much, and I doubt that anyone cared. Hell, I don't even care about the practice sessions. I just typically pay attention to qualifying and the race. Especially the race.

I think we all wanted ESPN to come back because of the way they use to announce the races back in the 90's. Then when they came back with people who had no idea what they were talking about, we wished ESPN had never came back. Am I right?

Really? We really needed to create an entire topic on this? I don't know, it just seems like a lot of whining over things that I haven't really noticed myself. Maybe I'm blind or deaf or whatever (which I'm not), but I really don't notice a lot of what everyone complains about. Yeah, Marty Reid is annoying and every once in awhile they drop the ball on catching a wreck or something, but overall their coverage is just fine. The pit reporters also bust their butts to keep us updated on what's going on. I just don't see what the fuss is all about.

I always get pissed when there is a football or baseball game on and when they go to race coverage, the race is halfway over.
