That's just dumb...
First off, it's a dirt track so it screws up physics
second off, they are doing a stupid qualifying format
WTF NASCAR!!!

How does that screw up Physics? It's real life.
Not a Videogame.

I'm just trying to figure out how it's gonna mess up physics. lol

Loading the dirt particles messed up the universe's graphics card, making it impossible for it to render the splitters. Due to the advanced polygon-based collision detection system, this also corrupted several planetary orbits and made the Earth lose much of it's mass from having glitched splitter models slamming through the world and sending parts of it at infinite speed to coordinate 0,0,0, an overflow location in the universe. This will make the Earth's gravity lower and result in the truck series becoming flight-based.

This is actually how qualifying is done at pretty much every dirt track across America on Friday and Saturday nights, and one of the main points of NASCAR doing this race was to help NASCAR return to its Friday/Saturday short track roots.

I love the format, going to feel like a Friday at a local dirt track except I'll be watching TV and it will have trucks driven by guys like Kyle Busch, James Buescher, Ty Dillon and Ron Hornaday.

Only 30 spots for this race as opposed to the typical 36? That's going to result in a lot of disappointed entries, but I can understand NASCAR not wanting to have more at this experimental race.

I believe its a matter of not enough pit stalls, if I'm not mistaken.

But I'm liking the format. Can't wait to see how these trucks do on dirt.

I'm liking this more and more. Though, I'm half expecting the usual dirt track mentality here.

Due to the advanced polygon-based collision detection system, this also corrupted several planetary orbits and made the Earth lose much of it's mass from having glitched splitter models slamming through the world and sending parts of it at infinite speed to coordinate 0,0,0, an overflow location in the universe. If I had room in my sig...That'd so be in it for sure. Proof that the Earth really is a computer. Now when were they building that new hyperspace bypass?

I now want to find one of those Everything else is just a game pictures for that post complaining bout physics.

Oh and SCRO, NASCAR ran on dirt tracks as late as 1970 or 71 till Winston came in and abolished dirt tracks. So, there is a long history.

After America creates their first solid state drive, they just need to get around the problem of having almost every form of fuel being a gas or a liquid.

Tell that to the Vogons. They'll just read poetry to everybody

/nerd

Either way, I'm hoping the dirt track format extends to paved tracks and special events.

Finally some good racing. More races need to have the heat race format.

It would make the races about 8.35 times more exciting, but the problem with that is it would make running the races a nightmare for lower budget teams.

Well good. If they're going to do a dirt race, better that it's done like a dirt race and not an asphalt race on dirt.

The heat races should be very interesting. Lots of mid-pack teams like Rick Ware or SS Green Light have a chance of winning something now, even if it is just a heat race.

It's as if the Truck Series now has their own All-Star race, except it's a points paying race. Sounds like fun.

Dammit Chad Little. This wasn't supposed to happen!

Well I guess that the tear-off guys will get paid good because they will have to pit every ten laps to get a tear-off taken off...

Yeah, uh...no.

In any case, I like the format. But if there's anything wrong with it, it's that some of the spots are guaranteed even before qualifying starts, but that's a given.

Still not into the whole thing at all, but what can you do. I'd probably feel significantly different if it wasnt a points paying race. If you want "The Prelude to the Dream v2.0", then set it up as that - an exhibition race for those who are interested. I'm just not a fan of putting teams in that position where if you want to run the full schedule, whether it be competing for a championship, a top 20 in owners points, or whatever else, then you have to run this exhibition-style spectacle, which also means build/prepare a truck for this one race, in addition to building a road course truck for just one race, and all the while we're going to run a new truck next year. Its something I'd almost expect more so from IndyCar - almost like a desperation move.

As far as the format itself, 8-lap heats dont seem like much time for anything significant to happen other than torn up equipment. And a "last-chance" heat just compounds it. I'll be damn surprised if much else happens besides that.

Aside from all of that, I'd be curious to know how much input Chad Little has had in this whole deal (even though its been in the works before he was promoted). Its kind of interesting to see someone do a mediocre job in a lower series, and then get promoted. Having him around makes me nervous for the truck series as a whole.

Nonetheless, I certainly plan on watching 'The Prelude v2.0', even though I'd be much more excited if tomorrow they announced they were canceling it. And I dont think theres anything that could change my mind on it.
