F1 2011 the game

Thought I'd start a new thread on this game since I accidentally posted in the wrong one earlier (whoops!). I just got this game this morning and I gotta say, it's awesome! Really, really difficult without any assists and the only one I use is the corner indicator since I'm not too familiar with some of the tracks. The graphics and physics are pretty good, too, probably the best an F1 game has ever seen, really.

In other words, infinitely better than the mess known as F1 2010.

Got my financial aid disbursement today, so I might buy this (inb4 YOU'RE USING MY TAXPAYER MONEY TO BUY VIDEO GAMES? IMPEACH OBAMA ETC ETC ETC), but then I realized that I do not have home Internet and posting this from a college WiFi network.

This game is awesome!!!! I have been playing it alot ever since the release. It is far above and beyond 2010.

Same here! The game is really, really hard and I was excited last night because I finished 17th, completed my team objective and beat my teammate. The game definitely gives you a sense of accomplishment.

Yeah the career mode is awesome. I started with Force India and I'm happy with a 14th place starting spot. Your teammate is fun to beat even though I did make a little bit of contact in China. I'm doing half races with limited TC and no ABS. You?

Don't even get me started on the Shanghai track. Those turns are flat out ridiculous. Anyway, I'm running 20% races with no assists except for the corner indicator on professional difficulty (I think the 3rd out of 4). Trying to qualify in Shanghai in the rain without TC is a nightmare. Needless to say, I qualified last. :cursing::cursing::cursing::cursing:

Thank you Mr Tilke for your abomination in China. I found it easyish in F1 2010 but in 2011 (PS3&PC at least), I can't get used to it at all.

I fought tooth and nail to come home 18th and barely complete the team objective for the race, which was finish 18th! XD The funniest part is after the race, my guy gets out of the car and the team is clapping and cheering like we scored points. Hell, I was just happy to get past Shanghai, although I'm not sure Istanbul is any better, also in the rain. :-/

It isn't any better. Turn 8, heavy rain, yuck...Or, for that matter, Suzuka in the wet.

18th? I got 20th after wiping out my nose off the line.

If you want to know why I bumped this thread, even tho the last post is in September, this game is now $25 for this weekend via Steam.

Or...you can get this AND DiRT 3 for $34.

Dang, that is a steal for those two! Too bad it's on the PC, though.

I'm having a heck of a time getting through my first season in F1 2011. The team's objectives for me each weekend are getting tougher. Funny thing is, they keep raising their expectations of me when Jarno keeps finishing in the 20's. I at least beat him every race.

I just secured the #1 seat, 16 races into the first season (112 points to his 0, lol). 7th in driver points, 5th in team points, with 6 podiums, yet no wins. Probably gonna re-sign with Virgin for next season...really wanna get that first win with them.

I'm with Team Lotus and since they don't seem to utilize KERS, I really get put at a huge disadvantage. I rarely get to use my DRS since the car in front of me is usually gone by the time they're opened up.

Yeah...I DNF'd at Monaco and Singapore...those tight street circuits are absolute hell.

Blame the somewhat inaccurate modeling on those. They get a track like India oh so perfect (since they use actual CAD data to build the tracks) but go on a street circuit and the lack of a CAD data is there.
