From Jayski:

Ron Fellows will begin his race toward his first career NASCAR Sprint Cup Series victory when he pilots the #33 Circle Sport Chevy in the upcoming road course events. Canadian Tire Corporation will be the primary sponsor for Fellows along with associate sponsorship from Texas-based AER Manufacturing in the Sprint Cup Series races at Sonoma Raceway (June 23) and Watkins Glen International (August 11). Fellows, who lives in the Toronto area and will be inducted into the Canadian Motorsport Hall of Fame in September, has six NASCAR victories to his credit in NASCAR Nationwide and Camping World Truck Series competition. "To have a driver of Ron's experience and ability behind the wheel of the #33 Canadian Tire Chevrolet at the road course events is another milestone in our program," said Circle Sport team owner Joe Falk. "Ron's longtime affiliation with GM Racing and our relationship with RCR (Richard Childress Racing) made this possible, and we're looking forward to giving Ron the opportunity to add to the list of his accomplishments in his racing career."

Hopefully he can score top-10s for Circle Sport. He's such a great road racer.

One sharp looking ride. Nice to see a chrome car with flames on the side and it should look sharp on-track.

It's good that he's back in cup. He had a 14-year streak of road course ringing in the cup series break last year, so it's nice to see that he's not completely out yet.

I'm happy to see him get another shot and hopefully it will pay off for him and the team!

He's getting pretty old, but I hope he can get Circle Sport a solid top 15 finish. From what I heard Ron will be racing a brand new, purpose-built road car.

When I'm at The Glen this year I hope to see him do well. He hasn't been running too good in the few races that he's been in recently, so I hope he can turn that bad luck around.

I feel the road ringer era in the sprint cup series is near an end, the Ron Fellows,Boris Said, and Scott Pruetts are gone

I think it would have been far more beneficial to Landon's career if they let him run the road courses and let him get the experience, but at the same time Circle Sport is a business looking to make money and Fellows brings funding to the team. Guess this means Landon will be able to be at Road America all weekend and focus on the JDM 4 team.

The road ringer era has been gone for a few years now. The series regulars have figured these RC events out pretty well.

Ron Fellows Completes One Day Test at Sonoma (Update Credit to Jayski):

Accomplished road-course driver Ron Fellows completed a one-day test at Sonoma Raceway on Tuesday, in advance of the 25th Toyota/Save Mart 350 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series weekend, June 21-23. Fellows, who will pilot the #33 Circle Sport Chevy, will compete in both NASCAR Sprint Cup Series road-course events at Sonoma Raceway and Watkins Glen International (Aug. 11). Fellows completed approximately 80 laps on the 10-turn, 1.99 mile road course during the test. "It's been a couple years since I've driven a Cup car," said Fellows, who has competed in eight NASCAR Cup races in Sonoma, posting a best finish of third in 2003. "These things have so much more horsepower (than the Nationwide cars) and are tricky to drive. The ride's a little harsher than I remember, but I'm also a little older."

I hope Ron does well. It would be really neat to see one of the road course ringers win a cup race.

It's kind of a shame. I always liked seeing new names and faces in the races, and I wish some teams would run an extra R&D-type car at the road courses so we could see what these guys can really do. Of course that would never happen, as Hendrick wouldn't want a Ron Fellows-type guy running the same equipment as Johnson, Kahne, Gordon, and Jr., therefore giving Fellows a great shot at taking away a possible victory for one of his guys.
