The new cars look good. Who ever said they need to go back to car from 06-08 is wrong. Them cars were butt ugly. They had wiglets on top of wiglets. The cars were making so munch down force that that iam sure a little kid could drive the car. They needed to change that and I am glad they did. The first year in 09 the cars looked ugly also. They are getting better and better with each year though. To me the new cars look like a mix from the early 90s and the late 90s cars. Only 35 more days in till first practice I am ready.

As for the game it will come out after or near the end of the season like last year. They have new car models to work with every year and takes time to make them. I didnt play last years game but it looks good. If I can find a used copy some were I will give it a try.

But I will stick with rfactor f1 mods. There free and fun to drive. They might no look as good but thats ok with me.

release date?

Google dude. Not here.

--------

Agreed tipptruck - I love the new cars. 2009 you are right, I was a little worried at first - last year they were good until the f-duct got up in everyones face.
But this year - with the shorter shark fins (Red Bulls is as big as they can go) only on the RB - all the cars look brilliant. And the v8's finally sound great after 5 years!, judging from the Valencia youtube vids!

I'm loving the Lotus and Renault cars! They both have an old school feel to them.

And for the release date of F1 2011, not until the third or fourth quarter of 2011.

McLaren's launch car has to be fake. No way you'd make exhausts out of carbon fiber?

autosport.com - F1 News: Kubica suffers multiple fractures

Could be Career ending as Kubica had some Lingering effects from an Injury suffered in an RTA in 03, that required bolts put in his back.
The injury isn't to his back, it's to his right arm...multiple fractures. Last I heard he was undergoing surgery to 'restore functionality of his right hand.' This is serious stuff.

Bruno Senna is the driver in line to replace him during testing.

So it's being reported now that the Doctors won't know for a week if Kubicas hand will survive or will have to be amputated & if it survives it'll be more then a year before he has full function with it again if he ever regains full function.

I feel that it's safe to say that his short but rather spectacular (both in performance given the EQ he was in, as well as his wrecks) F1 career is unfortunately over.

I remember reading a story & seeing pix of an old modified back at Langhorn Speedway where a similar thing happened and the guardrail literally came about 1/2" from impaling they guy. Luck was on that drivers side then & it was on Roberts now.

Robert Kubica's co-driver, Jakub Gerber, has explained how their accident on Sunday's Ronde di Andora rally happened.

The Renault F1 driver remains in intensive care in hospital in Italy and is due to undergo a second surgery on serious hand and arm injuries and a broken right leg.

Gerber explained how their Skoda Fabia was penetrated by a section of barrier after Kubica slid wide into a right-hander.

"We knew the surface was slippery because of the humidity and we were ready," Gerber told Gazzetta dello Sport. "After skidding, the car leaned against the guard rail and pushed it outwards. Then it crashed against the following guard rail.

"The guard rail pierced through the car and went all the way through it. I immediately saw it was serious, he also had a bad bruise under his eye after hitting the steering wheel. Robert passed out and I exited through the window because the door was stuck.

"The ambulance arrived immediately and then came the firemen. They took over half an hour to pull him out. The first crew didn't have the shears so they had to wait for another crew. Then the helicopter couldn't land in that spot, so Robert had to be moved and more time was lost."

Gerber was critical of the section of road that had a gap between two sections of barrier, leaving the end of the second exposed. And he also called for increased protection around the cockpit of rally cars.

"That opening [between the two sections of barrier] makes no sense," he said. "But, most of all, we shouldn't have cars with so little protection at the front. It's not the first time a crash like this happens - the Federation should think of something to protect the cockpit."

When asked whether he thought the accident was caused by a car failure or a mistake by Kubica, Gerber replied: "In a competition you try to go as quickly as possible. Robert is the type of person that thinks hard, always looks a step ahead, he's precise, fast and clean. A complete driver."

Mauro Moreno, who was the driver on the scene running one minute behind Kubica, gave his account.

"It was a horrifying view. I called him by name a couple of times, but he didn't reply," he told Gazzetta dello Sport.

"The steel blade was coming out of the hatchback. His co-driver signalled to me he had no problems so I asked Robert if he was ok too. But that was useless because he was in a state of semi-unconsciousness and he wouldn't talk."

All I can say is Wow.

That is really disheartening. I expected him to compete with a top team down the road. Not gonna happen anymore.

Here is the incar video from the car that was behind Kubica. At about 3:20 into the video they pull up on the wreck.

Both Robert & his co-driver are really really lucky that wasn't worse then it was. I have no idea what they were saying but it gave me chills when you could hear the tone of their voices go from calm aggressive attack mode to well what I can best describe as sounding scared & confused.

carbon composite can handle higher temps than any metal, and is far lighter than ceramic. that car was real (although was missing some of the "secret" bits they dont want other teams to see that close. and the engine was empty)

I have seen a lot of bad wrecks on all types of auto racing. I think that is my top worst crash I have ever seen. I just hope he can come back to racing in any forum. I hate to see a driver have his young career cut short.

Also a while ago I saw a video a on board camera of a rally event some were. They spun out and hit a fence. As they went flying through the fence a post went through the rear window. It came within inches of hitting the driver or co driver.

I can only hope that Robert gets back into an F1 car soon.
