I thought there was some rule saying the nose had to be so high. Well if its a lot faster then the other teams by 5 races look for other teams to adopt the Droop-nose. But since it is Virgin don't look like it will happen. I am sure it has its advances over other teams f1 cars. It looks like it might make more down force. Also with the nose lower the drivers might be able to see more in front.

Nope, I think it was talked about but looking at the changes in the regulations (I still can't get over how the FIA publishes their rules online for everyone but NASCAR doesn't) I didn't see anything mentioning it.

I know that driver adjustable front-wings are no longer allowed (now they get to play with the rear wing though, which has failure written all over it) so some teams may run higher noses because they find it worked better with the new rear-wing.

Personally I'm kinda split on the high-nose/low-nose thing, some of the high-noses look really cool and make the shape of the car flow better, but on the other hand I really love the superlow noses that they ran back in the day.

I still think the nose should've never come up off of the wing. It is no coincidence the downfall of F1, styling wise anyway, started in 95 when the noses started becoming elevated.

Fisha I think nascar dont post the rules for a few reasons.
1. NASCAR and the drivers don't even under stand the rules. So how are fans going to understand them
2. They can make what ever rules they want.

Detroit— Ford Motor Co. sued luxury automaker Ferrari in federal court today, accusing the exotic sports car company of cybersquatting and trademark infringement for allegedly misappropriating the famous F-150 name.

The lawsuit stems from Ferrari naming its new Formula 1 racing car the "F150," and creating a Web site Ferrari F150 - Live from Maranello, presentation of the brand new ferrari single-seater, according to paperwork filed in U.S. District Court in Detroit.

Ford has suffered irreparable harm to its F-150 trademark, the lawsuit says, and the Dearborn automaker's legal team wants a judge to block Ferrari from using the trademark in the U.S. That includes importing, manufacturing or selling any producing that uses the F-150 name.

Ford also wants unspecified damages and for Ferrari to give up any revenue and profits earned in the U.S. through the use of the F-150 name, according to the lawsuit filed by Southfield lawyer Marc Lorelli. And Ford wants $100,000 in damages pursuant to the Anticybersquatting Consumer Protection Act, which protects against Internet domain names that confuse the public over the true source of products and services.

A Ford spokeswoman could not immediately be reached for comment today.

Ford has used the F-150 name on its flagship, full-size pickup trucks since the 1975 model year.

The automaker obtained a trademark registration for F-150 in 1995, according to the lawsuit. Since 1997, gross revenues for the F-150 have topped $180 billion.

The lawsuit comes days after Ferrari announced it was naming the new Formula 1 race car the "F150," which is a nod to the 150th anniversary of the unification of Italy, according to the automaker's website.

Ferrari has officially renamed its new Formula 1 car the 'F150th Italia' as an act of good faith to avoid confusion with Ford, in the wake of the American car company going to court over what it claims is a trademark infringement.

Ford's F-150 truck is a top-seller in the United States and the car manufacturer believes Ferrari breached its trademark in naming its new challenger the F150.

Although Ferrari has decided to rebrand its car, the F1 team says it does not understand why Ford believes there is any confusion.

"On the subject of the name of the new Ferrari Formula 1 car, the Maranello company wishes to point out that it has sent a letter of reply to Ford, underlining the fact that the F150 designation (used as the abbreviated version of the complete name, which is Ferrari F150th Italia) never has, nor ever will be used as the name of a commercially available product - indeed there will definitely not be a production run of single-seaters," said a statement issued by Ferrari.

"In fact, it has always been the case in the history of Scuderia names, that they represent the nomenclature of a racing car project and are linked to a chronological order with a technical basis, or in exceptional cases, to special occasions.

"This year, the decision was taken to dedicate the car name to a particularly significant event, the 150th anniversary of the Unification of Italy, an event of such great importance that the Italian government has declared, for this year only, a national holiday.

"For these reasons, Ferrari believes that its own contender in the forthcoming F1 championship cannot be confused with other types of commercially available vehicle of any sort whatsoever, nor can it give the impression that there is a link to another brand of road-going vehicle. Therefore it is very difficult to understand Ford's viewpoint on the matter."

Ferrari has indicated that from now on, the car will become officially known as the F150th Italia.

"To further prove it is acting in good faith and that it operates in a completely correct manner, Ferrari has decided to ensure that in all areas of operation, the abbreviated version will be replaced at all times with the full version, Ferrari F150th Italia," it added.

Ferrari is always the first one to send lawyers after people for misrepresenting their trademarks, and now as soon as somebody does it to them they wuss out... haha.
