It's like they're trying to apologize.

Trying to apologize way to late. They should have done some thing like this years ago. Instead of showing reality tv, and 100 hours of NASCAR every week. I gave up on speed many years ago.

The only reason why there still showing sports car racing. Is the series is owned by NASCAR. If NASCAR didn't own it. I bet we would not see it. As for the electric f1 cars. I will not watch them at all. I don't see the series lasting for long.

Its only good if the races are shown in their entirety. Conti tire is probably going to be tape delayed again, which is a shame because it is one of the most competitive and healthy racing series on the planet at the moment.

The only reason Formula E is interesting in the slightest to me is because of the locales for the circuits.

At least they'll take better care of it than how ESPN handled the ALMS coverage.

I agree with this. At first I was like nice. I can see races on ESPN. Yep that was a joke. They would only show a hour of live racing. That is if there wasn't some stick and ball sport on. Then when they would show the tape delays. It was a few weeks after the race.

Yea I saw that too, and I'm not real happy about it. Comcast/Xfinity didnt even carry Fuel TV at all - not in a premium package or anything. I've heard some rumblings that they would start carrying it when it became FS2, but nothing official or from a reputable source. They better get it hooked up within the next week or so, because if I cant watch the mod race at Bristol, I'm going to run hell all over that company.

I also just heard the Thompson race is going to be tape-delayed, which is pretty crappy. Speed didnt tape-delay the mods, though I guess I should've figured Fox would.

I went to Road Atlanta the Continental Tire Series was by far the best race not to mention they had 60 cars racing in it at once. Really enjoy that series.

It's stupid how people want NBCSN to broadcast all these auto racing series. "They need to bring Wind Tunnel to there and this show and this show and this show." No they don't. You can't suddenly flood the network with 80% auto racing. They've already got F1, IndyCar and now NASCAR. That's gonna be alot of coverage there.

Has anyone heard any news on V8 Supercars coverage? Can we expect FS2 for them? Or will FOX cease the broadcast of them?

Also, why the Formula E hate? I like anything with wheels and a motor. I don't really mind the lack of a sound or anything like that. I really find it to be an interesting concept that I cannot wait to watch.

Heres the thing. NBCSN really has no major sports. Other then Hockey and the tour de France. They have college football. But even that's a joke. They can only cover teams. That are so far out west. That 90% of the college football fans. Don't even know who they are. If they do show the games. They don't start in till 10pm most of the time. Like I am going to stay up to watch Idaho play Wyoming. Don't get me wrong they do a great job of covering it. Its just teams that no one cares about.

Also whats wrong with more motor racing coverege. Back when speed was in there prime. That is all I use to watch. American racing fans need to discover other forums of racing. So they will know that NASCAR is not the holy grail of racing. Like many fans think it is.

As for the Formula e racing. Sorry I need to hear a internal combustion motor. Other wise I can go to the local old folks home. And watch old people race on scooters. I know electric cars are the future. But right now with cost and poor battery life. Its not its time.

A lot of automotive advances have came from racing R&D, i think this will only propel electronic systems forward even faster.

Formula E has potential, but it may be a case of "too far ahead of its time." We'll see how it goes.

So just curious, what is the holy grail of racing?

Hey now, when the Vandals and Cowboys get together, it's a big deal. Of course they're not in the same conference so it doesn't happen often, but still.

Use to live up in washington (palouse). Bout 15 miles from Pullman (Washington state campus) and 15 miles from moscow (Idaho campus). Lived up there for a year or so. Long story short we got free tickets to go to the Idaho vs Middle Tennessee state game. was a pretty good game this was back i 04 the idaho fans can get crazy at times. So far thats the one and only college football game ive been to. Hopefully one of this days i can justify the cost and go to a alabama game.

Ok back to the main topic.

Depends on what you think is the holy grail of racing. You get a bunch of different answers, from drag racing, to stock car racing, to open-wheeled racing, to tin-tops, even two-wheels.

Matter of taste. For me, IndyCar is the holy grail of North American racing. You don't have to agree with me on that one, again, it's a matter of taste.

On a prestige level its probably Formula 1 as it evolved from Grand Prix racing.

But in reality I don't think there is truly one over form over the other. But I get your question was more counterpoint than question.
