I'm convinced now after comparing experiences of others with mine that CPU
speed is the key.My opinion is that it's about a 3.00ghz min for everything on all the
time.
I have 2 computers running the game right now.To compare with yours one is an
Athlon 64 3700+ at 2.21ghz and 3.00gb of ram.I just put all graphic options on at their highest setting to check and got 16fps thru the tri-oval at the back.lol
The same settings on my 2nd computer that's at 2.80ghz will bring the field thru at
about 29fps.Close to smooth.Think I'll experiment with a faster CPU here in the not
to distant future.
I'm of the mind that although the best/greatest GPU will help out with your visual
quality the fps is in the CPU's hands.Heck I could get nearly the same fps out of my
ASRock onboard,just no quality.
I've got an AMD Phenom II system coming in sometime next week. Hopefully I can juice it all up and enjoy the scenery, I've spent the past two years playing on a $300 garbage Compaq.
Should have asked myself which mod.You can expect slightly better fps with the original Cup mod than with say the COT that I was basing my findings on.
Just checked my Cup fps on the 2.2ghz and it was running around 5fps higher. Not a lot but every bit helps.
