Surfers Paradise Street Circuit, Surfers Paradise, QLD Australia:

• Circuit Length -- 2.96 km
• Race Direction -- Anti-Clockwise
• Top Speed -- 264km/h
• Average Speed -- 146km/h
• Description of the circuit -- First appearing on the Australian motorsport calendar in 1991, the Gold Coast street circuit is a high speed, concrete-lined, thrill ride that was shortened for the new look event in 2010. The temporary street track has proven to create carnage in the past, particularly when drivers don't show the patience required for victory, so the guest international drivers at this year's event will have to tread carefully.

***Note this race weekend is a 2-race weekend. SPEED is unfortunately only broadcasting the 2nd race of the weekend because they feel Trackside (the joke of a show it's become) and a Replay of Truck Series Qualifying (yes really Truck qualifying @ Dega... Yawn) is more important then actual live racing. If I can find a stream for Race 1 I will post it in this thread.***

I couldn't find a V8 Supercar onboard lap on the new layout that they introduced last year so here is one from the Mini Challenge Series which was a support series for the V8s.

As you can see in that onboard video for those that are familiar with the track from video-games or past races there they've removed the 2nd Chicane on the front stretch, but the double Chicane on the backstretch is still there and still as difficult as it's always been.

And the top preforming International driver will be awarded the Dan Wheldon Trophy.

No idea, but they did shorten it when 2009 didn't happen (blame A1GP).

Considering that he was 17th when he made that pitstop for fuel, that's very impressive.

Was a pretty good race, was kinda hoping it'd rain though towards the end when the clouds were rolling in pretty thick.

That race was just plain awesome. I hope Speed decides to broadcast a lot more of these. I could get used to watching them!

Personally, the race was great, but was ruined by people cutting the chicane (thx Boris :roll: ). Officials gave up enforcing it when they realized that everyone was doing it.
