alright more and more people have been abandoning 3dsmax9 and have been going to the newer ones (2009, 2010, 2011). i was thinking about doing the same, but have a bunch of scenes (around 200 total) that use brazil and Vray (i kno what some ppl think of brazil, but its kinda convenient). so the idea of converting all those scenes to mental ray is a bit of a nightmare.

anyway i wanted to kno if there is any issue with installing something like 3dsmax2010 while keeping 3dsmax9 installed? i think my old desktop (which has been dead for months) had that kind of setup. i only want to keep max9 because like 99% of my stuff is made primarily using brazil and vray.

I have Windows 7 64 bit, and have 3ds Max 9 and 3ds Max 2011 installed with only one issue. You have to specify which version of max you want to open the .max file. I always name my scenes so I know which version of Max to open it with.
