Well, considering that Truex Jr. was replaced with Newman it's only fair that Gordon replaced Logano. This is a very questionable time for NASCAR though. Ugly times. 2 guys who made the chase were replaced by others... LOL I guess it's time to agree once and for all that the chase is a joke and it's not MWR who is guilty, it's NASCAR.

He didn't replace Logano. There are thirteen drivers in the Chase now.

Joey Logano was not taken out, they simply added Jeff Gordon as a 13th driver in the chase for this year.

Ok, thanks for the info guys. I guess then it's even a bigger joke. What arguments did they use for that decision? If Logano (or team Penske) is not guilty for "cheating" then why is Jeff in the chase? Or do we have a wild wild card now?

They should add Danica Patrick as the 14th driver (this is indeed a joke) because it's pretty obvious this is not a sport anymore. Finishing results mean nothing.

I don't agree with it BUT what can you do. I think it's bad for Jeff Gordon IMO... really felt that missing the chase was going to motivate him for the rest of his career, this will make him settle for the way he as been running over the past few years.

Florida, thank you! I was thinking that EXACT thing the whole time since this controversy all started. Why not just do whoever has the most points at the end of the season?

It's easy, competitive and you don't need to belittle a driver that dominated the season or a consistent driver that finished almost all races on a top 5, for an example.

While I dont agree with 13 drivers in the chase (even if its Jeff Gordon), I applaud NASCAR for doing what they think is the right thing to do in this situation. With everything that has happened last week, it has certainly thrown a curveball into this years Chase. Man, if ole 4 time went and won it all......
