Penske got off too easy. Logano should be out, and Penske should have been fined $300K and lose owner points. All crew chiefs who participated should be out of the chase. Everyone involved in the shenanigans should be on probation until 12/31/2014, and that includes Bowyer.

I'm glad I'm not the only one with this opinion...
I'm not a Gordon fan, I'm not a Gordon hater, but I think this is just pathetic. Adding random people to the Chase, because they lost it because of other teams cheating? Seriously? Well, why not add a few more drivers then! They just missed the Chase too. Seems unfair to me...
And I still can't stand over the fact that Truex got the worst of penalty that had to be given to Bowyer and Vickers, or their teams. Truex had nothing to do with it, and eventually he's out of the Chase. I'd prefer to have seen him in the Chase instead of Bowyer.
I think Nascar made a few big mistakes the past week

Why not give the 24 team a chance? The actions of BOTH the Penske and MWR teams pretty much screwed him, why not add him in to at least fix some of the damage this situation made?
And Truex is out because the actions of MWR were to help that 56 team make the chase. He's the victim, but he doesn't get off free, the whole team is punished, and that's how it should be.

I'm a Gordon fan, and while I'm happy he's in the Chase, I just feel like the integrity of the sport (despite what Helton said) took another big hit today. Yes, I feel like Gordon got screwed with what happened, but drivers get screwed all the time in these races, whether it's the cutoff to the Chase or just another race anywhere else. I also get the feeling that if it were any other regular (IE not someone on Gordon's popularity level), that this wouldn't have happened because part of Helton's explanation of why they added the 24 just seemed too vague. Saying that it wasn't just the 38 and 22's radio chatter, but a whole lot of things that seemed to put the 24 at an extreme disadvantage just doesn't sound right. Again, this happens to teams every single weekend. Drivers get put in bad situations all the time! It's part of the sport!

The biggest shitstorm ever is going to occur if Bowyer, Logano, or Gordon wins. Of course as a Gordon fan I'm super happy.

Nascar posably doing this because of Jeff's huge fanbase plus other fans who wanted to see him get in the chase brings up an interesting idea, fan voted position like the All-Star race has. Have the fans vote for the driver they want to see in the chase. XD

At this point, calling NASCAR the WWE of motorsport is an insult to the WWE. This whole ordeal is botched from the get-go. Kick Truex out of the Chase? Fine. Leave it at that. Adding Gordon as the 13th driver? This is so stupid that I can't imagine IndyCar would do this. Yeah, how they're handling the series is bad, but not THIS bad.

Just my two cents...
NASCAR fans are spoiled bunch. We are STILL complaining about a ten year old system. We constantly complain about the decisions of the sanctioning body, even though they do tons more than any other sanctioning body to keep the fans happy. We have the only major sport where ticket prices stay in touch with the economic situation (tried going to an NFL game for less than 100 a ticket lately), and more TV exposure than any sport other than football. But all we do is complain, complain, complain, and want more, more, more.
Just sayin'.
