The last week has been a joke and has seriously damaged the sport. Lets just go racing already, I am sick of all this manipulation by teams and NASCAR. Time to move on and bury all this crap with some good on track competition.

My head is spinning. I can't believe what I've been reading/hearing this past week. It's all ridiculous.

You know I would have said that Nascar should just leave it along and keep the results after Richmond. But then people would be bitching that nothing was done. Now that something has been done and the actions have basically been reversed pre-Bowyer spin, everyone is still bitching. WHY? Oh that's right....we're Nascar "fans"

When I think about this whole situation, I cringe, but then again when I think about it more I think that everything was done right by Nascar. Product of the Chase? No. Would everyone hate the Chase more than they do now if it didn't happen? Hell no. People just want to blame the Chase because they don't like it. I don't love or hate the Chase, but one thing I do despise is the WildCard. That's basically what caused all of this and it's just a cheap way to give other drivers a chance. This is just another perfect example of how fans will never be happy. Whatever Nascar does is wrong, and they threaten to quit watching...wash, rinse, repeat.

Nascar should just revive Dale Earnhardt get rid of the chase and Kyle Busch and start going back to using the cars from 1988...and let Dale Jr. win another 500. Screw the next generation fans because they don't know who the hell Dale Earnhardt is. Do it for traditions Sake!

I hope I can wake up and have this nightmare over with. I seriously can't wait for the race Sunday to have "closure" to the Richmond incident for the most part.

Acted like babies?! What.....? lol....

I feel like this should be the post/rant of the year lol. Personally if the wild card had another element to it, besides most wins in the Top-20... like best driver rating or something. Or better yet maybe best driver rating gives you the wild card? Idk just a thought.

This is embarrassing for the sport if you ask me

Personally I agree somewhat to this, but I think it'll be more embarrassing if Jeff manages to win the championship. I like Jeff (and the whole Hendrick team for that matter) but I feel like Brian France's mentality was "hey, maybe everyone will quit bitching about Jeff missing the Chase if we add him as a 13th driver" kinda thing...

I think they should fine and dock points from the people who Stewart wrecked with, and put him as the 14th Chase driver...

Not too far fetched since everything else that just happened! XD

Is it too late to just say "F--- it, we're skipping the Chase this year, and just continuing totaling points just like the first 26 races"?

Why not give the 24 team a chance? The actions of BOTH the Penske and MWR teams pretty much screwed him, why not add him in to at least fix some of the damage this situation made?

And Truex is out because the actions of MWR were to help that 56 team make the chase. He's the victim, but he doesn't get off free, the whole team is punished, and that's how it should be.

I've just taken a look back at the moment that Clint Bowyer spun out, and Jeff Gordon was in 10th position in points at that moment. So I'm starting to doubt even more with what I said before, that other drivers should be added as well. The only problem I still have is that Truex got kicked out of the Chase for something his teammates did, and Logano is still in the Chase... They don't seem to be consistent with their penalties. I would've taken Bowyer and Logano out and put Truex and Gordon in. That seems to be most fair to me...

Man, this has all turned crazy. Everybody involved in Nascar is shocked, some are happy, some are not. I'm just not sure what to think anymore...

Ummm... yeah... that's what people have been complaining about since Monday. XD The inconsistency of it all. But IMO Nascar mostly looks foolish because they waited until the last minute to put the 24 in... so people not familiar with the situation and especially non racing fans think Nascar just put in the 24 car for no good reason... hence all the jokes about putting other random people in the Chase too. :pinch:

If Nascar had just added the 39 and 24 in on Monday as the 13 and 14 Chase members then nobody would be talking about this now IMO.

And IMO although a lot of people don't care for it... I like the fact that Nascar is basically a dictatorship. Other sports like the NFL and MLB take years to make even the slightest change... Nascar can do it in just a few days.

Which is what drive me nuts. NFL, MLB, FIFA, even the FIA work as hard as they can to keep from changing, and everyone complains about that constantly, but NASCAR does the opposite in that they embrace change, but everyone complains about that too.

Spoiled, I tell ya.

We're the generation that always whines and complains about anything. When something happens, we complain, when the complete opposite happens, we complain... when it is cold we complain it's too cold, when it's hot we complain it's too hot. You pretty much can't keep everyone satisfied. If Nascar wouldn't have done anything, people would still have complained...

What's worse is that when they complain, it's always "it's the end of nascar/fifa/mlb/nfl as we know it. How will the sport recover?"

I mean seriously, people have been trying to write NASCAR's gravestone for 20 years now, everytime they do something. Jeff Gluck and Nick Bromberg are notorious for it. It's happened. It may or may or not have been the right call. But it doesn't destroy the integrity of the sport, it's not going to drive people away in droves, and it doesn't change the fact that NASCAR still succeeds over any other sport of balancing competition with entertainment.
