What did he do? Sorry, I've been out of the Indy loop for most of this year. I'm still getting used to them being on Versus most of the year and I forget.

They fined him for dropping 50 F-bombs on TV most likely....
That's Versus's fault for recording it...
Versus is Cable they can curse as much as they want with no fines what so ever.
Im sure it is in some sort of contract Helio has signed with the team or series though that he is not to cuss on air or in the media.
Okay, so I just watched the YouTube clip and all I have to say is wow. What a horrible call. Yeah, he may have moved up a little bit in the turns, but man he was protecting the lead in a very unagressive manner. He never even really "blocked" since he never really slammed the door on anyone. What the heck is the guy supposed to do, let the lead go and get passed with 2 laps to go!? I don't blame him at all for being extremely upset. I guess Indy just wanted to give their little pet Dixon the win on that one. I honestly don't care what the rule says, that's blatant crap right there to take a win away because of something like that. It's racing for crying out loud!![]()
Now he didn't get screwed. Further reviews (and a lot of people should know this by the way) show that You were suppose to take a line, I.E. curve the straight. It's hard to explain but if you look in the background on the replay you can see Dixon doing it. Helio didn't do that and Power did. Hence the penalty.
Remember...he didn't get fined for the on-track "blocking", but for the f-bomb laden attack on the officials.
I know that.
But people still argue that he wasn't blocking. Which technically he was. Not in our eyes because we are NASCAR fans, but in the eyes of the Indy Racing Officials who know the rulebook because they made it, it was a block.
I guess I am not smart because I never understood this "blocking" rule. You are in first, someone in second is trying to take it, should you just let them by?
I thought this was racing. Do what you have to do to win.
