Moody just said $60,000 and probation for the rest of the year. Helio got screwed but can't touch the officials. Nascar here we come. Haha.

What did he do? Sorry, I've been out of the Indy loop for most of this year. I'm still getting used to them being on Versus most of the year and I forget.

Go to youtube and type "helio 2010 edmonton". Can't explain it in words. Just Helio got screwed worse then Robby Gordon in Canada

Now he didn't get screwed. Further reviews (and a lot of people should know this by the way) show that You were suppose to take a line, I.E. curve the straight. It's hard to explain but if you look in the background on the replay you can see Dixon doing it. Helio didn't do that and Power did. Hence the penalty.

He thought he was above the rules and then when he was told he wasn't he attacked an official.

Look the rule may be a stupid rule, but he gets paid millions of dollars each year to follow those rules, and if he thinks he's too good to follow them.... Well they'll show him that he needs them more then they need him.

That's Versus's fault for recording it...

Versus is Cable they can curse as much as they want with no fines what so ever.

The only channels you get in trouble for cursing on are...

ABC
CBS
NBC
FOX
CW
MyNetwork

Everything else is cable and the FCC can't fine/regulate cursing/nudity.

But had it happened on ABC it wouldn't be Helio's fault they recorded it.

Im sure it is in some sort of contract Helio has signed with the team or series though that he is not to cuss on air or in the media.

Oh yeah there is no doubt that these contracts have some sort of public relations clause that covers that type of stuff, fighting, DUI, etc.... Hell it's probaly the second thing in the contract right behind "By signing this you acknowledge that you can be injured or killed" paragraph.

Okay, so I just watched the YouTube clip and all I have to say is wow. What a horrible call. Yeah, he may have moved up a little bit in the turns, but man he was protecting the lead in a very unagressive manner. He never even really "blocked" since he never really slammed the door on anyone. What the heck is the guy supposed to do, let the lead go and get passed with 2 laps to go!? I don't blame him at all for being extremely upset. I guess Indy just wanted to give their little pet Dixon the win on that one. I honestly don't care what the rule says, that's blatant crap right there to take a win away because of something like that. It's racing for crying out loud! :(

I agree 100% and I'm far from an Helio fan.

This is ridiculous. They need to watch NASCAR and see what they think:)

Would you guys mind reading this?

It was a bad call yes, but what I say above should explain it to you all.

Remember...he didn't get fined for the on-track "blocking", but for the f-bomb laden attack on the officials.

I know that.

But people still argue that he wasn't blocking. Which technically he was. Not in our eyes because we are NASCAR fans, but in the eyes of the Indy Racing Officials who know the rulebook because they made it, it was a block.

Actually that wasn't directed at you, that was directed at everybody else.

I guess I am not smart because I never understood this "blocking" rule. You are in first, someone in second is trying to take it, should you just let them by?

I thought this was racing. Do what you have to do to win.

If you have the faster car, race them and keep the position. If they have a run coming, don't risk an accident by trying to keep the lead. It is very dangerous to block in open wheel.
