My worry now is it'll set a precedent regarding blocking and teams will try to use it to their advantage by claiming they are being blocked.

Did Barnhart state it referred to the ovals as well? If so I'd love to see how they police side by side racing

I know, right? "Well, I qualified 1st, so I better not let anybody get beside me because I might be blocking them." How the heck is any actual racing supposed to take place?

Tony George and his fail buddies had to go and single-handedly made NASCAR more popular than open wheel in America. With the split, fans were deciding who to choose. So instead, most of them went to NASCAR and became stock car fans.

Without the split, open wheel racing in America would be comparative to F1.

Did you not watch the Indy 500? There were lots of blocking penalties for making more then one move on the straights. You can go left, you can go right, but you can't go left right left right left. It actually encourages side-by-side racing on ovals if you think about it.

It does, and I understand it can be dangerous, but these morons obviously have no idea what blocking is. Helio didn't block crap and I am standing by it.
