Hello Everyone.

My name is Steve, aka Skorpio. I was once an avid pc racer, having cut my teeth on the original NASCAR Racing game and graduating upward as new versions were released. My main interest has always been in NASCAR racing games, though I have toyed a little with the Race07 game.

I have joined this community in hopes of learning more about how I can play a NASCAR game on my 32-bit Windows Vista machine. It is my understanding that NASCAR 2003 Season is the only version that will work on a Vista machine, but I have yet to make mine function properly. It would seem that I need the "No CD Patch" (which I have been unable to find).

I'm looking forward to learning from others and learning the different mods for my game so that I may hopefully be able to create a few custom paint jobs and mods to contribute back to the community.

Thanks for the welcome messages and link.

Unfortunately, it just seems that me playing NR2003 on my Vista machine is not meant to be. I installed the program, patched it, installed the NO CD patch, and it keeps on crashing every time I click any of the options from the main menu. I can't do anything with it except calibrate my controller.

it could be DEP. Here's a link to disable it.

Thanks again for the contributions to this thread and the welcomes.

I have installed the NoCD patch and turned off the DEP using the command prompt. It's still doing the same thing, which is launching me straight into the controller config interface and then when I click ANYTHING on the main menu it crashes.

I haven't quite given up completely yet, but I'm losing inspiration in a hurry.

The problem could be your No CD. Try another one.
