Hello All,
I am a long time user of NR2003 and i have never tried to paint my own cars before. for starters, i just want to stick to the COT cars. What are some essential programs or applications, etc, that i would, or should need to work with?

Thanks in advance

There is a free program called gimp that you can run a search for and download. That will allow you to use .psd format files so your cars can be layered. There are also tutorials somewhere on this site that should help. As for logos, numbers, things like that, there are plenty of sites around for that.

Masgrafx Racing :: (News)

Try this one for starters.

Also, kind of a tip: when you are painting, your first car will not be good. but it'll come to you if you keep trying.

You can find templates here. Logos, numbers etc. can be found here, rainbow paint designs, masgrafx, and around the internet. GIMP is a great program to use also. It is basically the same thing as photoshop but free :D When you download templates or logos or whatever make sure its in .psd format. If you can not find a logo in psd format I like to use google images and search for it. If thats the case try to get it in .gif or .png format but .jpg and most other will also work, .gif & .png are much clearer though. While your painting be sure to layer every different color or design on the car including the numbers, sponsors, contigs, etc. And when you save BE SURE to save it as a .psd (ex. My2009Car.psd) and a .tga file. That should be just about everything :)

Oh yeah, to get the backround out of a logo from google images or where ever use the Fuzzy Select Tool (first column, way right) ;)
