Hey, I'm having an issue with 2k3. I play on my laptop when away from home and like to put my laptop into hibernate mode when I have to stop playing or the battery is running low. This is very handy for me as I can go through a race over a few hours or days if I want.

The only problem is whenever I put the PC into hibernate/sleep then come back after a few hours and turn it on again, my NR2003 game screen goes black. It only does this in Direct3D mode but not OpenGL. I get better frames in Direct3D mode so I'd really like to find out why it blacks out in that mode and if there is a way to stop it from doing that. I run in max resolution but windowed. Thank you.

I enjoy doing this, when in offline mod I started doing the whole race all in one stint :) Now, I enjoy letting it sleep every 30 mins after I get tired, I'm running Direct3D, I pause the race, and unplug my wheel, than let it sleep, when I restart I wake it up, plug my wheel back in, than race. Works fine. :) Hope this helps :D

Yeah my laptop ran out of battery last night and I woke up and thought my race was gone and I'd have to start over (51 out of 188 laps at 'Dega) but I powered it on this evening and the race loaded up perfectly and am now on lap 73! Do you find that leaving the input device (wheel, gamepad) plug in affects the race coming back after hibernate? Good to know this is possible anyway!

Yes, for me it does. That's great that you were able to continue your race, I also let the commputer sit for a few minutes once I wake it up before continuing the race. Give it a chance to breathe! Hope I helped!
