No thread for this? Wow.

Kasey Kahne on the pole.

ARCA race has started. Lap 2. #52 upside-down. Matt Lofton and Hachenbracht involved.

Now that was wild. That car picked up off the ground so fast when Lofton made contact with him when he spun around. Honestly was not expecting a flip at Kansas :-O

Rough images of crash (from iPad). Big image is of Boat's #52 lifting off the ground when Lofton slammed into him.

The new surface has made Kansas a lot faster than most expected. And it made turn one pretty sketchy. It'll be interesting to see how it affects the racing this weekend.

I know one thing - I wouldnt want to get stuck on the outside of someone like a Montoya, Hornish, or Dinger with the lack of grip and faster surface. Stay away from the one-bars.

The way the car flipped from the in-car camera reminds me of Steve Kinser's IROC flip at Daytona

Something I do not quite understand is why these cars and I mean Cup, Nationwide and ARCA flip when they get hit at about the front tire since the front of the car is the heaviest part of it. It happened to Mike Wallace last year at Talladega, it happened to Tony Stewart a few weeks ago and now it happens to this driver. I mean I've seen cars getting hit on the driver side and the car didn't come up and over even when technically the middle part of the car is lighter than the front, I just don't get it...

These ARCA cars sure do flip easily... is it because they're light or what?

Considering they can turn over because of a hard turn on asphalt...

Yes. XD

And now the 99 car pulls a wheelie on the backstraight due to contact from the 32.

I think the racing today was more a product of the Arca cars, not exactly the track. We will see how the Cup and Nationwide races are.

Yeah, I'm thinking there will be about 2-3 cautions, mostly for debris.
