And why did Newman blatantly take out Kyle? Did we ever get his side?
Guessing it was the block by Kyle down the back stretch

Keep in mind I'm a Kyle fan when I say this:
Did Newman really flat wreck him? From the replay I saw, he just got him aero loose. Just drove up on his bumper and air did the rest. I could be wrong seeing as though it's been a while since I saw a replay.

How long was the #49 inactive? I thought they tried to make the race last week. It's sad to for to see since they were the "underdog" I was really pulling for but I am not surprised at all.
Not really Kansas-related, but I did not want to create a separate thread for this since this thread was already up (credit to Jayski):
#49 team up for auction:
Gavel Auction is scheduled to hold an auction of the complete assets of the #49 Robinson-Blakeney / American Israel team on October 30, 2012, including race cars, engines, hauler, EFI systems, shop equipment, pit road boxes and more.

Looks like the long-inactive #49 team is finally hitting the auction block due to their financial woes.
Well, Jayski's last update on them was for the Sonoma race, so I figured that they had not been active recently (since I didn't follow the team or took notice of them on-track)
EDIT: did some digging around. They last attempted at Bristol (see below in last Jayski update for team):
After taking Indy and Pocono off, the #49 team ran at Watkins Glen with Leffler listed as the driver and the crew chief as Scott Eggleston, but skipped Michigan and will run Bristol (8-19-2012).
