I'm running an offline season, and I've run decent everywhere, finishing 2nd at Daytona, a pair of 8ths at Cali and Vegas, a win at Atlanta, and a 2nd after a crazy Bristol (AI kept wrecking, only 10 cars running at the end)

Now I'm at Martinsville. And I've tried a couple different setups, but nothing works. I'm terrible. I've got the AI difficulty set down to 92% for this race, and I'm still getting owned.

Idk, do any of u guys have any tips or maybe even a good setup you'd like to share? I always run horrible here, but idk...I'm using the Martinsville AKM track, but the default Martinsville isn't any better for me.

Thanks in advance

practice, practice, practice.

you just got to find a rhythm to run martinsville. I still have trouble with it and I've been playing since NASCAR Racing 2.

Martinsville's definitely a tricky place to get around, but like Fire said, practice, practice, practice.

It is all about rhythm and getting in and out of the turns smoothly. You need to feel out where you should get in and out of the gas and on and off the brakes to save your equipment.

The most important thing about running well at Martinsville is being able to roll the car through the center of the turn, and having a good enough 4th gear to give you optimal torque out of the turns with the low rpms. You've got to get your line right to find the optimal apex for your setup, and just let it roll, and pick up the gas as soon as you feel the transfer of weight. It's just practice, practice, practice.

This is a place you really have to slow down to go faster. It's so easy to overdrive the corners here. Start backing off a lot earlier. I back off just past the start finish line. This allows me to be slowed down enough to coast through the turns and get on the gas a whole lot earlier and get a real good drive up out of the turn. This works well at all of the short tracks.

I learned that trick from Sr. If you are already slowed by the time you get to the turn you can start accelerating as soon as the car will take it. Just watch not to give it too much gas and break the rear tires loose.

Hope that helps some! Just remember not to overdrive the corner and use a shorter 4th gear to get strong acceleration. Play with the track bar also to help getting in and off the corners.

I find it quite easy actually. I just won a 75 lap race at 90% and no cautions. What Marty are you using?
