I have an Idea for another NR2003 contest......

I was thinking maybe a painting contest. Where painters, weather they are amatures or experts, come together and show off their creations for that week's subject.

I call it:

Pretty much SRD's Painter of the Month, minus the themes and it's every week.

It's been done, I've run it, several other people have tried, after about two or three goes you start getting 1 entrant. Not worth it in my opinion.

Well.... I haven't posted the rules yet...... and now that I'm done eating dinner, here they are:
1. It is themed, by driver name (meaning you have to paint a car based on that driver's 2012 sponsors)
-1a. Even though you have to use 2012 sponsor, you DO NOT have to nessisarly use their 2012 number and manufacturer. (an example would be Dale Jr's #67 National Guard Dodge.)
2. The mod you paint on can be either NCTS09, NNS2011, Br2011/12, or Cup11/12.
3. If you win, you can choose a driver within the Truck, Nationwide, or Cup series.
4. This goes from SUNDAY TO SATURDAY, for entries then SUNDAY TO SATURDAY for voting (So really, Sunday(entrys are entered)weekend(voting)saturday(results)sunday)
5. A points system maybe will be in place, and you can get points for however many votes you get that biweek. IDK if I'll accualy imput this, so no promises.
6. Have fun painting!
7. Enrties can either be posted as rendered images in the entry post (which announces that biweek's driver), or emailed to me as a flat JPEG file, which will then be rendered at Ten0r's Render Shop.
-7a. After the first saturday, I will start a topic with all entries, with the poll, similar to the weekly screenshot contest.

The above poll closes in 2 weeks, if there are more total votes of "hell ya" and "maybe", then the contest will start. If more "IDK" or "no, not really" votes (total), then the contest is scrapped.

Here is why the screenshot contests work and painting contests don't because how long does it take a screenshot and post it. 5 minutes. Now painting is a different story. Most people have job, school, and family. That there takes up most of their time also painters don't want to be boxed with ideas. With not much time does someone want to put a slap-up car done in 5 minutes if they do that what are their chance of winning. Slim unless no one else enters.

No. It was chili cheese dogs with french fries.

Getting on the subject of the contest, I give people a week so that, when they have 15-45 minutes in their day, they can paint a car. Also, an edit on the rules, driver is still listed, and the manufacturer stays the same as the real-life driver's, but now anything can be painted on the car (number, sponsor, team, etc.).

I wish you the best of luck trying to put this together but you have the deck stacked against you for running competition on a weekly basis. Maybe have more luck with more spread out bigger deal like quarterly across a racing season. One competition every 9 races would get more time for a good amount of entry's and give it a little more prestige.

OK, new rule about the length of the contest:
Entry time line goes for about 9 weeks, then Voting for 2 weeks (11weeks total)

Well.... 7 to 7 for wether or not the contest starts...

To spark intrest, i have edited the rules so that you can paint on ANY MOD and, if you win, as well as all NASCAR divisions, You can choose an IIC, WoO, drag racing, AMA MotoX/MotoX Lites, or any other racing series driver!

Too many rules and restrictions. People aren't going to paint for a contest if they're restricted as to what they can paint. Seriously, unless there is actual prize money or items involved, painting contests are destined to fail.

I loosened the rules up. Alot. I had grip on mods, series, and how the car is painted, not to mention how long the contest lasts. I lengthened the contest for a single round, loossed how the car is painted by alot, and now you can paint on ANY mod for ANY series driver! This contest is loosened past spinning point (*cough*)!!!!!!!!

Honestly, I think the only rules necessary are sponsor choice (or other theme) and time.
