I want to state my opinion about this because I feel some might have the same feeling as I do about leagues. I am not be any means speaking for everyone, but I feel there are some reasons that are not getting mentioned and they are getting more common. Some of us have problems with racing format; meaning race length or rules. A lot of drivers are not a fan of the whole 30-40% races or 2x wear factor as it doesn't give the guys with more conservative setups a chance, unless caution falls at the edge of a fuel run. Drivers are looking for something more sim-like instead of shootouts. Most common reason I see posted is scheduling, but from what I have seen and heard the biggest thing drivers want in a league now is fixed setups. As some people do not like having to work on a setup for 20+ hours just to be competitive which is another reason you might not see many tryouts as interested. ONE of my personal complaints is the fact that older leagues have the tendency to "stick to their ways" or get stagnate with the rules, favoring some more than others, or even setting up track files more to their liking to have a advantage. Some like to run overly complicated points or rules. Hell, I even know a few drivers that will not join a league just because the website is just too complicated. Not saying this is how your league is by any means, just thought I would give a different perspective on why you might think it is dying. I have been racing (and owning) with leagues since 2004 so I have seen my share of dislikes/likes from drivers. I would go into more detail and I will if asked, but I am trying to make it as short as possible. I am actually looking for a league and know about another 4 or 5 drivers that are also looking, but the problems that we might have are not the ones leagues are thinking.
