If you put a restrictor plate on at Michigan and other tracks, you would get the nationwide series, where a toyota wins every race.

Um, a Toyota has only won 3 out of 8 races so far this year...

Well, you know what I mean. The cars with the most power would win the majority of the races. And last year Toyota won 20 of the 35 races. The restrictor plate's been on the cars for more than just this year.

Maybe Chevy Ford and Dodge should get off their lazy butts and build a new engine. Even their "new" engine uses designs that are decades old.

Toyota's tapered spacer is slightly more "tapered" than the other makes.

I'm not quite sure why people think adding restrictor plates to California Speedway would make it more exciting. What you're really looking for is additional banking so the track is as fast as Michigan or faster.

To require restrictor plates, the track would have to be reconfigured with more than double its current banking.

OK restrictor plates suck the fun out of racing... Its like building a turbo car and forgetting to put the turbo on.. yeah its runs but its slow and has no balls!

If you added a plate to Pocono that would kill that race... they have to slow down too much for the turns and then they would never get back up to speed. They would have to bank the corners huge like mentioned about Michigan and Cali. I say LOSE they plates all together and re-tune or completely change the engine package for Daytona and Dega. Bring back REAL RACING!

On a side note.. I would like to see what the COT would do unrestricted... maybe in one of those killer 2 car drafts they can pull off now. Just for one practice lose the plate on a couple team cars... then put it back on for tech.

Erm...do you really want another Bobby Allison 1987?

That's the sole reason why restrictor plates are invented in the first place.

Besides, it's fun for us fans, but nerve-wrecking for the drivers. Adding the plates to any track not a 2.5+ mile hi-banked superspeedway is like seeing Loudon 2000 all over again.
