in game settings just reset!!!?

ok here i go,
went to run some laps last night (nr2k3) and when i loaded the game, the graphics option came up. after that the wheel calabiration screen came up like when we first install the game. of course i dont remeber what resolution i ran becasue i have been running great 75fps for months! i have my refresh rate at 75mhz but my game stays at 60 now? the sound in the game is now staticy (sp?) and i think thats all, all my other graphics tweaks i did manually and i think its ok. why would the game reset like that, does it happen alot? i have the v-sync option set to 1 under the dx.ini but still it reads only 60? right now im at 85% normal in smoothness.....this game frustrates the shit outta me at times :arghh: but on a lighter note i can run assist free now.....well except auto clutch...... calvin

If your controller is disconnected,or connected for that matter,when the computer is on
it could cause the need for recalibration.I've seen it happen after a mod has been added or removed.If I add a mod,or remove one now,I restart the computer.
If the series your running doesn't have a cars folder and you start it,it can need recalibration
when you start it again.Those are a few reasons I can think of for recalibration.

IIrc,when you make a monitor resolution change,you have to reset the game resolution.I think that goes for the video card also.If you change it in the control panel I think the game needs changed too.Seems like there was some other weird reason I got once,but can't remember now.

Not sure about the sound.It's always been the weakest link in the game I think.Really fickle at times,especially if a sound card is involved.I have been fortunate lately that mine is working the best it ever has.
