The more Ive watched it on ESPN, its pretty obvious that officials wait for ANYONE to pass Hildebrand so they wouldnt have to give the win to the guy who just smashed the wall. Look how long they wait to throw the yellow light on. JR is nearly to the finish line. WTF are they waiting for? Oh yeah, they wait until SOMEONE passes him under green so they can award THAT driver the win. Im not saying favorites were played with any drivers, they just didnt want their 100th anniversary race to award the guy who choked on the last turn. This yellow flag issue is far more obvious and controversial than the NASCAR no yellow falg for Junior. He hits the wall at the 33 second mark, and they throw yellow at 41 second mark, INSTANTLY after Wheldon passes. Really? Fix.

Rebuttal: Hildebrand was not under power had the caution waved, so Wheldon has every right to pass him.

This is a completely disingenuous assertion, riddled with a misunderstanding of the rules.

Hildebrand, even if the yellow had been thrown, was the cause of the caution, and was not under power. Hence, Wheldon would have won either way.

In comparison to Wheldon "instantly" passing him, he is long gone by the caution's waving.

Obvious troll is obvious.

Give me a break. IndyCar would never fix a race in a one-off team's favor.

Well, thats good to know then. So, now its just Indy trying to save face. Instead of awarding Dan under a frozen field where they eliminate JR, they wanted to make it look simpler to just let him pass under green. Either way, that 8 seconds after JR hits the wall is an eternity. So either the yellow button pusher needs to be fired, or they had a reason to wait that long. Which to me is terribly disrespectful to JR, you had no idea how badly he was hurt, but you wait until someone passes his possibly unconcious or dead body before you call yellow?

Yes yes yes, everyone is saying it.

All 3 races were fixed, of course. Vettel shouldn't have won, Wheldon shouldn't have won, Junior shouldn't have had the chance to win etc etc etc. It's all rubbish.

My word, can race fans not be happy with the biggest motorsports weekend of the year? As a Button fan, I was livid about Monaco. But those are the rules, and it was the best Monaco race in years. During the first Indy 500 I watched, I got to see a brilliant finish. And while I personally would have thrown the caution for what happened during the 600, it was a fantastic finish despite one of my least favorite drivers winning.

Racing. Is. Not. Pro. Wrestling. Despite what Smoke will tell you.

thank god for ignore lists

I agree. This is the same moron who says Kyle is more intimidating then Dale Sr., he said the race was fixed for Jr. when it wasn't. God are you gonna say NASCAR rigged everything for Johnson to win 5 straight? Ignore list has commenced.
