Hello all. I have just kind of got into the sim racing scene. I have played LFS for a short while and just was not very impressed, mostly because they are not accepting of 3rd party mods. The first question I have is, is there many people that play on the East Coast of the US? Also, is iracing accepting of 3rd party mods? As hick as it sounds, I want to someday drive dirt ovals. Seeing as how im a broke trade school student currently, I can't afford it but hopefully I will get a good job afterwards so I can. Is there dirt oval racing in this game and if so, is it popular? Thanks a bunch for your help guys!

No, they wouldn't accept 3rd party mods. And iRacing is browse-based simulation and there's no way to add any 3rd party mods on it.

iRacing is the premeir sim-racing developer. 3rd party mods are for lesser sims.

Dirt is not in the sim at the moment, but they have stated that dirt is in the future, but probably will not be added for some time. Right now there are core elements missing and dirt would require an entire new type of coding for a "transforming" surface.

Almost once a week I see new threads in the iRacing Member Forums suggesting dirt so by now I think iRacing realize it's a desired feature, and when done properly should provide an excellent sim experience.

ok what about my internet connection. I am running a basic DSL package thats about 90kbs download and 110kbs upload. Will that work good? Also is the logitech g25 wheel a good setup for this game?

G25 is what most people use and it works just fine. As for the internet, I don't know from personal experience, but going off of iRacing's recommendations you only need 56K dial up at minimum and Broadband (DSL or Cable) is recommended. If you run fine on other sims online I don't see why you would have connection issues with iRacing.
