N2003 is for you if you like all your mods to drive like trucks...

Really, you cannot compare iRacing with them... NR2003 and rFactor are best for single player mode, your own custom scheme, and the mods. iRacing is best for online only.

I agreed with Josh...

My setups don't make the cars feel like I am driving a truck. I have driven almost every car iracing has, it's not that much of a difference in my opinion.

iRacings net code maybe better, and the eyecandy is better. But it's not THAT much better than what we have now. iRacing is still at least 65% nr2003 code. Just think about that for a sec before you respond. Its 65% nr2003 code still. And that is a well known fact proven in the court of law.

How bad off are we still using nr2003?

That's true, however, iRacing isn't in same category with NR2003 and rFactor. At least that's what I see. ;)

Not again...this has been discussed a million times before.

But, he's clearly new here, and he probably wants advice on what to get. There is no reason why we can't share our insight on NASCAR games with a new member.

NR2003 has online good enough for me. NR2003 is really for more of the hardcore NASCAR fan in my opinion, while iRacing is for sim racers who can sacrifice customization for pur racing quality.

I'm with ya there. I loved iRacing and all the new features and all the extra stuff we can't get in nr2003. It's not much of a comparison anymore. But I still think nr2003 is holding it's own considering what the next level(iRacing) has done.

I wasn't talking about your setups...

Well what are you talking about then? In order to drive a race car you have to have a good setup underneath it don't you?

And by the way Josh, if you don't want to read or hear about the comparisons, or iRacing in general, then simply don't visit threads involved with iRacing being discussed.

I'm saying that if there was a shopping cart mod for N2003 it would probably have truck physics...

Don't all mods have the truck option?

All mods have any option, you can download a physics converter to convert any mod.

OK... so any 1 of 4 options for physics. iRacing vehicles all have a very distinct feel. So what good is a COT that drives like a truck?

Just drive a truck.

No agrument from me. iRacing have varies of different vehicles that designed for ovals and road courses and they all aren't padded with real world schemes like NASCAR and IndyCar. NR2003 and rFactor can do that. iRacing is strictly online game only and NR2003/rFactor can have either single player or online multiplayer. That's why I put iRacing in different category from NR2003 and rFactor.

This sounds like a Dale Jarret ad from his UPS days:laugh:

There is a game/ sim for everyone nowadays:biggrin: NR2k3, IR, rFactor, GTR2, GTL, Race On.....

Used a friends IR for awhile and wasn't impressed at all, but having a choice is a GREAT thing.
Their rating system is a joke  and seeing them offering deals each few weeks that get cheaper every time make you wonder....
But reading about how racers are getting "banned" and the bitching and complaining that some people do in IR just shows that the "kids" and "spoiled brats" are everywhere:laugh:

It's just a game at the end of the day ;)

The difference between iRacing and NR2003 is what you make of it.

If you want the closest to real life simulator available, iRacing is where it's at.

Most of the COT mods use Cup physics...

Regardless, I agree...for the most realistic sim-racing experience, go iRacing...you won't regret it.

If you want full customization, while sacrificing some realism and actual feel when driving, go NR2003...you won't regret this, either.

If you have the time and money to put into iRacing and don't mind not having your very own car that you designed yourself, and race primarily online, go iRacing.

If you're on a tight budget, like having your own car, and do some single player racing, stick with NR2003.

I loved iRacing, but I didn't feel I have enough free time to warrant the amount of money spent, and I'm a better painter than racer anyway so that's my opinion.
