I don't know if anybody has noticed or not, but I personally think Darian Grubb is somewhat of a miracle-worker. Befor you go saying "oh, you're gay" or "no he's not", heree's why I think so:
Got Jimmie Johnson the 2006 Daytona 500,
Helped get Casey Mears his first career victory back in good ol 2007,
finally, getting Tony Stewart the championship in 2011, not to mention 11 wins with Stewart combined at SHR from '09-'11.
Now if that's not convincing enough, I'm not sure what is.XD

Got Jimmie Johnson the 2006 Daytona 500,

Chad and Jimmie had a lot to do with it.

Helped get Casey Mears his first career victory back in good ol 2007,

It was on fuel-mileage.

finally, getting Tony Stewart the championship in 2011, not to mention 11 wins with Stewart combined at SHR from '09-'11.

Tony drove his guts out to win the championship, and with the 2 or 3 bad cars/races he almost didn't lost the championship. 11 wins with a driver like Tony really is not a huge thing.

Now if that's not convincing enough, I'm not sure what is.XD

I'm not convinced. I'm not saying that Darian isn't good but he hasn't done anything that special. It seems like the car is setup bad more than it's setup great. If Darian goes to a little team and gets their cars running competitively then I might be convinced.

Well then you'll never be convinced. A little team will never be as fast as the big teams without sufficient funding. You're asking for the impossible.

Due to this fact, I'm "convinced" that Tommy Baldwin and Frank Stoddard are top notch. Albeit they are the team owners, you have to believe they're working on the cars as well with what short resources they have.

Stewart-Haas basically WAS a small teamwhen Darian went there anyway. He didn't have anything except his notebook, a capable driver, and capable equipment; and you have to believe the large part of the organization that was "Haas" from the start didn't have much good data to offer. I don't see the same performance out of Ryan Newman from that camp, and he's really just as capable of a driver but has Tony Gibson atop the box.

Also, a win on fuel mileage is as much a testament to a crew chief's strategic ability and decision-making as almost any non-fuel mileage win you can get (obviously plate wins don't speak so much for a crew chief). That said, Mears's win holds great weight in the Darian debate.

I know but that doesn't make him a miracle-worker. If he could go to a small team with little funding and get them running great that would be a miracle-worker. Darian is a great crew chief but I don't see how he's really a miracle-worker.

Well the obvious fact here is that "miracle-worker" is too strong of a word to describe any crew chief. I was under the impression that this was to be overlooked.

I don't think he is the next Knaus, but he has something. He is a hell of a crew chief. He turned a mediocre season into a championship season, and you can't say he didn't. I don't think he is a miracle worker, but I also don't think he is a one hit wonder.
