issues with 3dsmax 2009 and brazil v2

ive used 3dsmax 9 for a while with brazil 1.2.66 and i got a new comp and put 2009 onwith brazil rio

and now it just looks like a scanline render with no shadows

how can i fix that, plus the background is a dark grey

anyhelp would be GREATLY appreciated

plus it says i cant pick a resolution highers than 511x1024

Brazil Rio is a lite/trial version of Brazil r/s.

yeah i kind of figured, i got 3ds max 9 on here as well now along with brazil 1.2.66
