....I'd take a good paycheck to turn 10 laps and go back to sleep in my coach. You'd be stupid not to do that.

You are correct. A racer wouldn't have that mindset. With my racing, I'm in debt every year. Never actually MADE money. However, I can't promise my mindset would be the same if I collected a big paycheck to turn a few laps and then park the car....who knows. None of us are racers, so we can't be for sure how we'd react.
