I just got CarViewer cause I've been working on lining a base up right from the hood to the sides etc. and I have big problems. First of all, I can't get the Bullring COT Spoiler to even show up in Carviewer, and also, how do you make a CarViewer scene? What's the difference between CarViewer and CFViewer and finally, is there anywhere I could download scenes? Sorry for so many questions, I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing righ now lol.

Car Viewer doesn't have any scenes, as far as i know. You can put an image as a background, but it won't look very good. For the bullring spoiler appear, you will need an model that have the spoiler. You can find it on BullRing Motorsports

Open car viewer, press Ctrl+X, and open an .x file. Like chevy.x or dodge.x

Have you opened up the mesh file for the Bullring COT yet?

Is that the .x file? Cause I don't know of any mesh file. I'm new to this stuff.

Yeah, it's the same thing. If you open up carviewer and go to file, you'll see it towards the bottom. Did you download the separate files for the Bullring COT? Nothing except the original cup mod comes with carviewer.

Oh, since you're new to this, let me explain how i organize my files. Let's say i want to paint a Ford. I make a duplicate of the ford folder and place an template inside it. I open and paint the template as normal and then save it as .bmp inside the same folder. You need to watch the name of the files, in my case it has to be COTFord09.bmp. Then i open CV, Ctrl+X, browse to the folder of the car i'm painting and open the mesh file is inside. It will open the model with my scheme applied and as i update the .bmp, i press Ctrl+R on the car viewer to update the paint on the model.

Open up the folder that has the .x mesh file in it, and look around for the chevy file. Each mod is a little bit different but basically you want to look for an image (usually .tga, .bmp, or .jpg) that is the chevy (sometimes labelled CAR, COT, or most often CARD, or it may be something like the manufacturer and mod or year, like COTChevy09). Then you want to replace that image with the image of your car. The trick is it has to be the exact same image file AND the same name. If you do it right when you open the .x mesh you should have your car brought up.

Some mod viewers are even worse and you can't use high rez images to view, so you either have to use a low rez image or compress the bit size so the car is more low rez render. If you are using high rez and it doesn't work, either save the image at a smaller bit size or reduce the size of the image by 50%.

I did that, but when I hit CTRL+X, nothing happens, then when I try to open template from the 'file' menu, it comes blank.

That shouldn't be happening. Make sure there's other six files in the same folder of the .x file, like ford_int, chevy_net.

That would happen if he doesn't have a valid image (COTFord09 or CARD for example) to draw from. If there is no car image in the folder or it isn't labelled properly the car comes out white.

So you have replaced the car image in that .x mesh file, with the exact same file type and name?

Try making the image smaller, like I was saying before.

If Ctrl+X ain't working, go to file and "Open Direct X Mesh". And you should load is the .bmp file, not the template.

That's why i said it shouldn't be happening. He downloaded from Bullring, and it comes with all the necessary files to load the car.

I know for a fact that I saved the image (in this case it's a Chevy) as COTChevy09.bmp, which overwrote the other file.

When you want to see your scheme on the carviewer model, save your file as a .bmp over the COTFord09.bmp file. It will ask if you want to overwrite this and click yes. Go to file in carviewer and click, Refresh File.

Oh, I see. So you can't even see the Bullring COT model in carviewer. Hmmm....
