Here is my 2nd announcement:...I will attempt to make the Daytona 500 with my NASCAR Nationwide team RAB Racing TOYOTA Sprint Cup car number #09 SPONSORED by "American Ethanol"...I will be focused and ready to give it everything i have, The Daytona 500 is a race i grew up watching from my house in Arnold Missouri as a child, this race is the BIGGEST OF ALL, I am Ready!!!

Posted straight from Kenny Wallace's Facbook/Twitter.

Excited to hear this, it's been years since Kenny races in Cup (Talladega 2008), I hope he makes the race and does good.

That would be great if he could make the race, hopefully he can team up with a good enough team!

There's gonna be a lot of teams this year it seems. The 50-entry mark seems possible.

Awesome news. If he can make the 500, he can do well. Even if he gets taken out early, Daytona has a substantial purse and the money would really help the Nationwide team.

It's also nice that he'll get to use the same number as Nationwide since Phoenix switched to the 51.

Well, that's a surprise. It's good to see him attempting the 500 though, hopefully he'll make it in.

All I can say is good luck to him. I think he'll do well! I just think all of this 1 or 2 race driver stuff is getting old. My opinion, run the entire season or run another series. Why? Because if you're not running the entire season to try to win the championship, why run at all? I thought thats why you race to begin with, but, just my opinion.

I hope he makes the 500. I will so pull for him in the duel, Maybe he can make a big upset and get a top 10 in the 500, that would be so great to watch.

This makes me wonder if RAB purchased any of Red Bull's former fleet.

Having drivers that only make 1 or 2 races in a season is nothing new at all, it just gets more publicity these days because of the lack of teams.

He has a full Nationwide schedule. Besides, lots of young drivers run partial schedules to get seat time and experience. Take your defending Daytona 500 winner, for example.

Oh man this SO COOL!!

If he and RAB do as well as 2011 NNS - he'll do great!

I actually love the 1 or 2 races a year thing.

It's whats happened since the dawn of time - look at the 500 or Indy.
I think it is great because it shows you the big races still mean something - other than the same run of the mill full time runners showing up at another race to get it over with.

With lots of one off teams and drivers it brings the 500 to life!

Go Herm!
