Does anyone know where I can find a different version of Kentucky Speedway other than the ones on Smiffsden? Those are great tracks, but my piece of crap computer can't handle them.

unfortunately for your case, the SDT Kentuckys are really the only ones that are accurate and have AI that work, as far as i've ever seen, but I'd swear Ian had a very FPS friendly version (maybe even in the full download).

It's not laggy at all, it'll just all of a sudden crashes the game. 2 attempts to race, 2 crashes 20 to 30 laps into the race.

I used to have that exact problem. Under caution coming back to the S/F on the DTN version. With the newer versions I have yet to experience a crash while racing.

Maybe try the newest version of Smiffs Kentucky.

I took your advice and downloaded Simffsden's latest Kentucky (Kentucky_2013_SDT) and tried to run a race at 15% (41 laps). The game crashed on lap 22. The Kentuckys that Simffsden has released are extremely fun to race on, I just wish I could get through an entire race. lol

Dustin,

A number of other versions have been built over the years - some better than others.

There is a tracklist at Nascar Racing 2003 Tracks, Mods and Utilities - just click on the tracks, then speedway, and you will find them.

I checked and (at least) one of the links still works (the 2009 version by JR Franklin / Jim Foose). I didn't check the others.

Hope this helps!

Cheers

Brad

Dustin are your shared folders up to date, DTN sky and all? That may be causing the problem. Sounds like it is crashing when the transition starts to happen. Sucks you cant run the track right now.

Hope you find a good version to race on.

Just as an FYI.... none of our SDT tracks require any "updated" or altered shared folders. As for the reason the game is crashing on lap 22 when running any of the SDT Kentucky tracks, I'm puzzled. I have a feeling that it might have something to do with something other than the track.

Thanks for the come back. I say that because when my older version was crashing a lot, it was mainly around the time the DTN transition started or maybe 3-4 laps after the lights came on. It would almost always crash if the lights came on under caution and we got the 1 to go. After updating to the latest version I have yet to experience this.

I can't remember to well but didn't you guys have a accelerated version for those that ran shorter races?

Hmmmm.... perhaps it may have had something to do with the lights coming on, but I highly doubt it. Would have to look into that further.

Yes. The 2011 version had alternate files that would speed up the DtN transition 2x's faster and 4x's faster. We also had a 2011 version that was a night only version. Did you try that one and did you have the same CTD after 22 or so laps?

Also, we released a 2012 Kentucky DtN and a 2013 Kentucky DtN version. Hopefully these both work okay for everyone. :)

Try and remember exactly when it crashes and under what circumstances, otherwise it's quiet hard to replicate.

If it always seems to be happening after a certain amount of time, then the cause is more likely to be pc related than the track, the track does demand a lot from the pc and if the pc isn't up to the task, it'll fall over eventually.

Try the 2013 version, as it has all the dodgy stuff from the 2011-2012 versions fixed.
