Key Bored Industries Custom Car Showroom [BRGen6, Cup]

Key Bored Industries

Welcome to Key Bored Industries. You can think of us like Key Lime Pie, except you don't eat us, and we don't smell that good, and we're not green and squishy. (Except for Bob.) Basically we're nothing like Key Lime Pie except we share a first name.

Here at Key Bored Industries, we make cars. Not the "Congratulations, Joe, you've won a shiny new car!" kind. Nor the "Steve, you left your cars all over the floor!" kind. Or even the "Sal, you know I hate it when we have cars for dinner!" kind. No, we make the "Fred, stop staring at those cars going in circles on that laptop of yours and get a life!" kind.

You can drive on by and take a look at our wonderful Showroom, conveniently located approximately fifteen point three inches in front of your nose, just two point six scrolls down the Information Highway from this sentence!

If you like what you see, all of it can be yours for the low price of $0.00! For a limited time only, 0% APR and $0 down!

(Bob, what's APR again? Artificial Pony Respiration? Angry People Riot? Aw, forget it. Moving on!)

Showroom: Everything New

Don't feel like looking through the thread for all the new sweet rides and golden oldies Bob has spit out for us? Check out all our newer vehicles at NNRacing!

For everything posted prior to 2014, keep on reading, folks, it's all right here!

Showroom: Generation 6

Here are our lovely latest models, fresh in stock. Due to an unfortunate technical error (I told you not to eat the photography studios, Bob!) our photographs do not always represent the complete highest quality of our vehicles. If you think you can do better, don't waste time telling us, do it! If you like what you see, take the keys, and not only will we give you the whole car, depending on how good we're feeling (and whether or not Bob ate all our chocolate) we might even throw in a free pit crew to change your tires and fill 'er up for you once you get home! Families be warned, though, most of our cars don't come rated!

Inventory Changes

This is where addendums and recalls from our showroom will be marked for potential recurring buyers to see. (Provided Bob actually learns how to use a pen the proper way. Or a computer. Or really anything at all. Why did I hire him, again?)

11/10/14: While taking out the trash (you know how pesky getting rid of nuclear waste can be), Bob accidentally uncovered a vault of ancient vehicles, marked with the magical number 42. They aren't up to modern regulations, but that doesn't matter, we'll clean them up and put them in our showroom anyway.

7/4/14: Perhaps Bob is truly back. Maybe he never left. It's always been hard to tell whether he's alive or not. But he fetched us this dazzling 2014 #26 Scorpion Toyota.

7/3/14: We are uncertain if Bob has returned from the dead, or if he's just doodled in his eternal sleep. But either way, we have added the 2012 #09 American Ethanol Toyota.

11/4/13: After Bob returned from a month-long vacation (which he was not granted permission to have!), added the 2013 #34 CSX Ford.

10/2/13: Added #24 Bud Light Platinum/Monster Energy request car at 2:05 PM.

10/1/13: Added both the normal and inverted #6 Viagra Fords from 2004.

9/28/13: Both a Terry Labonte and Kasey Kahne car (the biggest difference is the ratings, as well as the name on the windshield, obviously) were added for the 2004 #5 Kellogg's Got Milk Chevrolet.

9/27/13: Showroom divided into Dealership Exclusives and Retail Recreations at 5:30 PM with the addition of both the normal and inverted #20 Home Depot Chevrolets from 2004.

9/26/13: Showroom opened with 6 fan-favorite cars at 11:40 AM. 2 official KBI original cars, #44 and #84, added at 12:15 PM.

That intro was very entertaining. XD

The cars are a nice start. The first criticism I have starts with the Hellman's/Kraft car. The car doesn't really fit either of those sponsors. The other main problem is that Hellman's is a Unilever company and Kraft has its own separate brand of mayonnaise.

With the Subway/Ecoboost car, I'd suggest a color change in the numbers, probably to white. The blue doesn't really fit Subway too well.

Part 1:

Yes, as listed in my signature, one other thing Key Bored Industries does is "publish" fiction, semi-humorous or serious or both. And you can't have a good (shady) car dealership without a good spiel!

Part 2: Yes, that was not only the first car I'd designed in some time, but Tetronix, who requested it, chose the colors and the sponsors; all I did was paint it.

Part 3: As you mentioned, it's officially also sponsored by Ford, so that's where the blue came from. Literally. I took it right out of the Ford Oval with my magic Color-Sucking Turkey Baster of Paintiness. I wanted to also use that blue for what became the black/navy blue part, but it just looked too awful splashed all over the yellow and green like that. I might split it up into two paint schemes, one for Subway's and one for Ford, but I borrowed the template anyway for the original request, so I might as well just redesign two separate cars.

Do these cars come insured, I was well driving around, and, well, the car drove itself in the wall...

...lol, I like its creativity!

Key Bored Industries is proud to introduce our first retail reconstruction. They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. (Wait, who's "they", Bob? Those nerds in Marketing?) Well, Tony Stewart had better be flattered out of his socks (Not literally, Bob, that would hurt with only one good leg, so put down that Shockisockremovinator please) because two pieces of his perfection have been added to our glorious Showroom.

[/pitch]

I've always been a Smoke fan, and as I started watching NASCAR regularly in 2004, this paint scheme is the one I've always liked best of Tony's. Of course, it's not nearly as easy to draw as the one he had a year later when he won the championship...

Key Bored Industries has released another pair of Retail Recreations: two flavors, if you will, of the 2004 #5 Kellogg's Got Milk Chevrolet. (KBI not liable for damages incurred by ingestion of vehicles, vehicle parts, Kellogg's, milk, or Bob.)

We would like to take this time to remind you of another of our great products: Bland Flakes! (Used under license from Bland Flakes Incorporated.) Now with 20% more anti-matter than Frosted Flakes!

[/pitch]

Surprisingly, this was harder than the Stewart cars. Getting all the sponsors the right way, making sure the tiger stripes were lined up, spending an hour fruitlessly searching for the right Tony the Tiger... Whew. It's not 100% accurate, as I looked at a lot of sources and none were the same, but it's maybe more accurate than the Stewart cars.

Key Bored Industries is proud to continue its trend of bringing you the best from yesteryear (or rather, yesteryesteryesteryesteryesteryesteryesteryesteryesteryear, or the year after yesterdecade) with a pair of not-so-brand-new 2004 Fords, driven by Mahk Mahtin. Remember, don't drive these cars if you drive any other vehicles with nitrates, or you could suffer an unsafe drop in tire pressure.

[/pitch]

These aren't 100% accurate, because there are not many pictures of them on the net and I relied heavily on Team SBR's versions for the default version of NR2003.

Unsafe drop in tire pressure lol! Nice job on these, my only suggestions is to fix the god-awful yellow grille tape.

Goodyear lettering on the white car should be black, not yellow. But other than that, they look sharp!

We apologize for the delay in updates, but Bob decided to give himself a month-long vacation in the world of Red-dirt Craftminia (or some place like that) and he took the keys to the shop with him.

But now, we are proud to present our latest (in every sense of the word!) retail recreation, the 2013 #34 CSX Ford of David Ragan. Remember, unless you're someone like Teresa Earnhardt and have DEI's Train Stoppinator (or you're someone like Bob and trains bounce off of you) you'd better brake for trains, too.

[/pitch]

This is actually one of my favorite paint schemes from this year, but surprisingly, I couldn't find an NR2003 version anywhere on the web. Not on SRD, not on OutlawGrafxs, nowhere. So I decided to take up the challenge. And challenge it was, having to draw all those letters out, because I have no idea what font they used, if any.

I might also work on the All-Star version, which is nearly identical, except the hood reads, "Beats Goliath. Brakes for Trains." and the "TIE GOES TO THE TRAIN" on the rear end is a single line all the way across.

Eggsalad, Ghosty! LOL

One thing I see is a mask around the side windows; I believe you can turn that layer off in the template.

Will this be available for purchase, or is it just a showroom model?

All the cars in our showroom are production models. Stop by our main showroom location for the keys.

[/pitch]

All of the cars I create can be downloaded in the original post of this thread, with the blue link "Take the Keys" underneath their picture. It will take you to a public Google Docs .car file download page.

After a long and desolate winter, and a dull and dreary spring, and most of a bleary and sweltering summer, Key Bored Industries's car production lines have been reopened, at least for a short time. It is not the shiniest of shiny cars, but at least it burns clean fuel. Here at Key Bored Industries, we always advocate saving the environment, by driving your massive 1.5-ton 5-mpg 800-hp race car everywhere you go with only the safest pollutants.

[/pitch]

I noticed that this week, RAB Racing is attempting to make their second Sprint Cup start, using the #29. They have attempted one Cup race before, the 2012 Daytona 500 with Kenny Wallace, also using a recently vacated number. I decided someone else was probably going to do their new car, I might as well draw their old one, since it was pretty simple.

Ghosty!! Back from the dead! How ya been man? That car looks fantastic, it seems to fit even better on the Gen6. Great job, as always.
