I agree but I think Sam would be great in the NWS even if he ran Cup atleast part time. Plus it would keep him prepared to go full time in 2013. I just feel their first mistake was only running him in one series and kinda feel they might be making the same mistake again.

I don't want Sam in cup because then he likely wouldn't compete for the Nationwide championship, points-wise.

#93 team releases driver: Sinica Motorsports Inc. has decided to release rookie driver Grant Enfinger. The future of the team is critical and everyone felt it was the best decision to be made at this time. Enfinger who had been hired on only made one attempt to qualify which came at the final race of the 2011 season at Homestead-Miami Speedway. "We wish Grant success in his future career. Sinica Motorsports would like to thank all of its sponsors including Hewe's Concrete Polishing, Wixe Radio, Sterler Productions, and Ham Insurance Agency for their support" Since the release of Enfinger the team has spoken to several drivers including 2004 Sprint Cup Champion Kurt Busch who was recently released by Penske Racing.(Sinica Motorsports PR)(12-15-2011)

I was going to mention this team as a possibility but I thought they would stick with Grant... I don't really know why I thought they would. :-/

Kurt going to Sinica would be a big mistake...if you ask me that team won't be around by the time we hit Daytona in July.

As for the 22 I have this sneaking suspicion that it's going to be a shocker, someone who we haven't even talked about getting that ride....just a gut feeling.

There are plenty of half decent options for people with souls.

But Kurt won't be happy (despite what he will pretend) in a car not capable of running for a championship.

Maybe he should have thought of that before being the greatest tossbag of all time! He is about to waste an entire season/year of his life. All his fault.

Jayski says Busch turned down offer to drive the # 43 and possibly teaming with Kyle Busch Motorsports in a Nationwide Series / Truck Series combo deal for next year...also mentioning his desire to run a season in NHRA.

I think if he leaves for a year, there won't be anything quality for him to return to.

I think you have seen the end of a competitive Kurt Busch, which is sad, but it was brought upon by himself.

Wouldn't it be pretty ironic if he turned down a Petty car to go Drag Racing for a year and then the following year when he returns to NASCAR he does so in a Petty car.

DRRRAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGG Racing???

You're kidding me.

If he didn't like engine failures in NASCAR . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Just quietly though - it would be a sin to have Kurt in NASCAR but not cup - absolute sin. Ok, the guys a massive DB - but still one of the best drivers of the 21st century.

While it makes sense to a point, I can't see Kurt not running a full-season in NASCAR. 'Out of sight out of mind'...he loses his window. I can't see anyone taking a shot with Kurt in 2013 if he spent his entire 2012 season drag racing.

Once again, really? A absolute sin? Hes not really that great. He most likely turned down the 43 cause they made it clear they wouldnt tolerate his prior behavior.

I've heard the rumors he might jump to the NHRA and run Pro Stock. That might be a good option for him at the moment.

That and he probably doesn't want to go up against someone like Ambrose.

Ambrose gets the massive upper hand in that deal - if he outruns Kurt, kudos to him, bad for Kurt - but if Kurt beats him noone will think twice.

Back to the thing about him being one of the best of the 21st century.... well . . . he is.

24 wins and 6/8 chases - plus a champ. He's a top driver of the now - making him one of the best of the 21st century - I chose to mention that century on purpose. I never said he was an all-time great. And it is a sin to lose a chase driver from competition. Like Wheldon not having a ride this year.

^How that's worded I thought he turned down KBM as well.

Jayski said:
Could Kurt Busch run Nationwide for Kyle? Word is Busch declined RPM's offer to be considered for the # 43 ride ending speculation the controversial driver would bounce back from his Penske departure with at least a 1A-type team ride. Busch has remained publicly quiet on what exactly he does have up his sleeve for next year and behind. He went on a very aggressive media blitz immediately after he and Penske parted ways and assured everyone there was interest on many fronts for his talents. There is speculation he is indeed following through on his thought of walking away from NASCAR for at least a year and running an NHRA Pro Stock car for the 2012 season, an off-shoot of his enjoyable time at last year's Gatornationals. But with little brother Kyle's Nationwide Series ride still open, many believe the Busch boys will indeed team up for next season in a combined NWS-truck series program out of the KBM stable.(Motor Racing Network)(12-22-2011)

I'm very glad he turned down the #43! It would be great to see Kurt racing for his younger brother. XD I can see Kurt doing NHRA/CWTS/NNS/NSCS all part time. With Kurt guaranteed to make at least 6 Cup races could he turn down a lesser team part time?

He might be competitive in the # 51. I mean, Bill Elliott was doing decent and Bill's on the downhill side of his career. It's just like a Tony Stewart-ish team. Hendrick cars/engines, Finch crew. Kurt could probably bring in some sponsorship, too.

Maybe he'll find the "fun" again and start doing well. If not, there really is no where to go if Finch can't put up with him.

Since there already has been a Busch to the 51 thread started, I'm going to go ahead and close this one. Please continue all Kurt Busch/51 discussion there.
