DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- NASCAR has suspended Kurt Busch until June 13 and has extended his probation until Dec. 31 for his actions following the Nationwide Series race June 2 at Dover International Speedway.

Busch violated Section 12-1 (actions detrimental to stock car racing; violation of probation; verbal abuse to a media member) of the 2012 NASCAR Rule Book. Busch had been placed on probation May 15 for his actions during the May 12 Sprint Cup Series event at Darlington Raceway. That probation was scheduled to end July 25.

So he'll miss Pocono, he's gonna screw himself out of a ride.

He's is constantly digging himself into a deeper hole almost every week. He obviously hasn't changed at all.

I'm sorry, I'm gonna get a lot of heat for this.

Kurt should not be looked at as the bad guy. I know some people are gonna laugh at him and say he deserves this.

Hasn't the man been punished enough already? OK, no, he hasn't changed, but can you blame him for being mad? The guy has so much pressure on him it's ridiculous. He's in a crappy car (albeit it is a Hendrick car) and was expected to win. And with all the bad luck he's had, frankly, the man has every right to be pissed.

No, he shouldn't have lashed out like that, but maybe now he'll have some time to cool down and go at it again and see if he can't turn it around.

Im pretty sure my opinon isnt going to be valued since im an Avid Busch fan. However, I have said this many of many time him getting with finch was not a good idea. I mean going from a top tier organization to a 12 man group is like going from a ferrari to a pinto. And yes while his driving skills are still the same the depth isnt there for him to do what he know he cans and that just leads to even more frustrations for himself. Had he just taken a half season ride with Kyles team I think he would have been ok.

This comes as a complete shock to me, I thought they may slap him with a hefty fine, and extend his probation. But maybe this is NASCAR sending a message to Kurt like they did Kyle last year, and to this point we really haven't heard a peep out of Kyle.

As far as his ride search goes I think this will damage him slightly, but may actually help him as this could be what humbles him after all, as I said after Kyle got parked at Texas last year he's been on his best behavior so there may be some hope for Kurt. IF this can shut him up and keep him in line the he has a hope at a decent ride next year, if not he'll end up with a team in the top 3 divisions that is desperate for a really talented driver and is willing to roll the dice (see Phoneix Racing).

Stupid call on NASCARs part. He talked bad to press reporters, should NASCAR care about it? NO.

NASCAR should only give out penalties for actions that happen ON track or illegal cars. This suspension is way out of relation to what Kurt did at Dover. You can only feel bad for him.

Yes, but it is in the NASCAR rule book. So I can why he has been suspended.

The idiot has been given enough chances by NASCAR. If he meant what he said or not a verbal threat on camera is not something that can be taken lightly. So there is no excuse for him, be a better man and walk away regardless if someone is provoking you.

I've been thinking about this a bit. While I think you're right, I think I see why NASCAR came down on him.

I think it boils down to tact.

I was a Stewart fan through the "rougher" days of his career and he always let his temper and emotions get in the way. Fast forward to a couple of weeks ago at Talladega where he wasn't pleased about the race, he was able to communicate his feelings in a tactful way without cussing or threatening anyone. Even better, he still made his point and it had people talking.

There's a fine line and I know it's not easy to find. But I think if Kurt wants a future in NASCAR, he needs to find it and damned fast. You can give a reporter heat for trying to stir things up, but you can't threaten to beat them up.

Mixed feelings about this... on the other hand, I don't like Kurt at all, and he's really looking op the edges of what is allowed and what not with his cussing all over the place.

But on the other hand, I think that this punishment is a little too much. He didn't cross the line in my opinion. Take for example Kyle Busch, who was suspended for wrecking Hornaday out of the championship. Kurt got the same penalty for something quite minor.

I can't say I didn't see this coming after listening to his radio at Talladega and a couple more recent races. The problem with Kurt is he seems to have two extremes as far as temper goes, and when he crosses that line there's no stopping him. Hopefully this does for him what Kyle's suspension did for him.

While he should have gotten a punishment in some form (seeing as he WAS on probation), I'm not sure a suspension wasn't too large of one.

I think Nascar went a little too far on this. They allow the television networks to have people work on pit road with the IQ of a first grader, then expect them not to be annoyed when they ask stupid questions. Either way, the only potential good thing about this is that is might have the effect that it had for Kyle at Texas last year. Plus, there are thousands of famous people who do that kind of stuff to media, and most of them walk away free. If there were physical actions between the two, it would make a little more sense to me.

NASCAR went to far with suspending Kurt, but even though the punishment may be a little severe, I believe that it will help Kurt with his temper in the long run.

Care to elaborate why he's a punk? Put yourself in Kurt's shoes and see if you're not pretty mad after all this.

Because he acts like a child and he is always whining about something, so he deserves a timeout.

He has a career and a talent that many people would kill for and he takes it completely for granted and treats everyone around him like crap. He's a spoiled brat who needs a reality check.
