Because he acts like a child and he is always whining about something, so he deserves a timeout.

So, I'm sorry, but what you are telling me is, you don't enjoy a little drama once in a while in NASCAR? You would rather all drivers just drive and then go on to the next race? You want nothing in between?

That's beside the point, have you put yourself in his shoes at all? Push away all your bias for once and tell me if you would not be angry if all Kurt's bad luck happened to you.

It's nothing personal, I just want you to put yourself in his shoes and give me a valid reason why you believe what you believe.

Stupid call on NASCARs part. He talked bad to press reporters, should NASCAR care about it? NO.

He threatened physical violence on a reporter for asking a question just a few weeks after almost plowing through a pit crew. NASCAR absolutely should care.

They allow the television networks to have people work on pit road with the IQ of a first grader, then expect them not to be annoyed when they ask stupid questions..

Bob Pockrass (the threatened reporter) is a writer for The Sporting News. He asked Kurt if being on probation affected the way he raced (a totally legitimate question). It was stupid of Kurt to say what he said and he was punished accordingly.

A series of temper tantrums and cussing out reporters and crew is not drama...

Yes, I believe it is. I can't really argue with you Mopp because you sort of got me in a corner on your previous post, but in this case, that is what drama is.

But this isn't the argument at hand, so I'll agree to disagree on our opinions of drama and leave it be.

^Kinda reminds me of F1 :p

IMHO I think a $100,000 fine and extended probation would've been plenty and maybe a little steep on the fine but a suspension...for cussing out a reporter...I just don't know about that.

Then again, Kurt obviously still hasn't learned from his or some of his brother's mistakes.

I think it's too harsh but it may help Kurt... I mean if you were in Kurt's shoes, you wouln't be soo happy either. But NASCAR wanted to stop his antics and kill any drama in the sport.

If you don't want people asking about your probation, don't be a jackwagon and get put on probation in the first place. Pretty simple.

Kurt's been in cup since mid-2000, he should know by now what's expected of him when it comes to the press, especially after the Jerry Punch deal last year. NASCAR doesn't want to turn him into a choir boy, but they do expect decency. Threatening to beat reporters up, and letting it get caught on tape isn't going to fly, no matter who's involved. There's going to be a race in Pocono on Sunday, and I'm sure Kurt knows that he needs NASCAR more than NASCAR needs him. Maybe a weekend at home, watching on TV will enlighten him. I hope he gains from this...

Though this was interesting...here's Jimmy Spencer's take

Update
Jimmy Spencer Reacts To Kurt Busch's NASCAR*Suspension
The following are quotes from SPEED analyst Jimmy Spencer, a former driver who infamously clashed with Kurt Busch in 2003:

"Kurt Busch's suspension is long overdue, and that is coming from someone who learned his lesson after sitting out a race for punching him a few years ago. Kurt has been given plenty of chances to right his wrongs and put himself back on the right path, but he has failed to take advantage of any of those opportunities.

NASCAR had to do something to restore a sense of respect toward the sport on Kurt's behalf because he seems to consistently flaunt his disrespect for everything and everyone in this sport. Maybe sitting out and watching the race from the pit box or his couch will wake him up to how great he really has it.

If Kurt is under the microscope, it is because he has put himself there by acting as if the rules don't apply to him. But the rules apply to everyone, and if you cannot treat your fellow competitors, crew members and members of the media in a respectable manner, you do not deserve to race. He's a hell of a driver, but until he gets his temper under control, he has no business in a race car.

Speaking from experience, I can say that my suspension was extremely upsetting to me, but it made me a better person off the track. That's what Kurt needs now, and I hope this helps him. It seems to have straightened his little brother, Kyle, out, and I hope the same is true for Kurt."

I think Nascar went too far, they should have just suspended him from a Nationwide race or two. Hopefully Kurt will make the best of it and learn a huge lesson.

Does anyone think that Nascar is handing down suspensions when Cup drivers are in lower series to try and discourage racing in them so much?

I don't think it's about discouraging them from racing in the lower series so much as it is letting them know just because they are in a lower series they can't get away with more than they can in the cup series.

I found this the other night. Somebody compiled all of Kurt's "moments" since he started NASCAR into a documentary. I take no credit for this video, and warn of harsh language.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MfaZR3ysMIA]Kurt Busch: Rageaholic - YouTube[/ame]

I gave up about 30 mins in. It's 1 hour 15 mins long, and doesn't include this year's antics.

I'm all for drama on the track & off, but there's no reason to berate the reporters especially highly regarded one's. Kurt has brought this on himself .

Kurt is never gonna learn. NASCAR is clearly not for someone who constantly threatens others and has issues in the head. He clearly needs psychological help, but he'll probably end up in a mental institution. His younger brother has calmed down after last year and he can still learn because he's young. Kurt's issue is way beyond what Kyle had. Kurt has also had issues for a lot longer with his anger, all the way back to his rivalry with Jimmy Spencer in 02. I mean not a single person in the history of NASCAR has had more anger issues than Kurt. It is just amazing how many incidents he gets into every year.

I say ONE more major outburst, and he'll be gone for good. If NASCAR doesn't take more action, he is gonna kill someone.

Kurt Dun' Goof'd.

I was kinda expecting some sort of response from NASCAR regarding that outburst...Kurt's really gotta get his stuff together if he wants to have any semblance of a career left after this season. Right now, the only team I could see taking a chance with him next year would be Gibbs.

I hope it's a sufficient reality check.

And that's if the sponsors want anything to do with him.
