You do realize that many champion teams in NASCAR's past got that way because of how they pushed the rules in order to gain an advantage over others, right? Chad's doing his job to push the envelope, and it's NASCAR's job to keep Chad in check. If Chad really went over the line, he wouldn't still be in NASCAR.

Winning with or needing an "advantage" to be successful is not really being successful at all. If your truly "great" you will win when equal or at a disadvantage.

Then no one has ever won.......Every team that has won a championship, has pushed the envelope in one way or another

Of course you assume that just like others assume Chad is cheating. Though it's ok for 48 fanboys.

An advantage means not even, having more ______, which really means unfair if your talking about "pushing limits". NASCAR was founded on equal cars, let the drivers drive for a winner. You don't think all the other CCs and teams don't take it to the maximum where it's applicable? Advantage mean going past maximum tolorence.

So, if Chad is so great why must he get that "advantage"? ...and if he is the best at getting an "advantage" then what does that mean for Jimmy? Jimmy's not good enough to out drive the other guys without an "advantage"? Maybe he's not the "O'great one" all the fanboys claim he is since he is driving a car with an "advantage" like more downforce, horsepower, less weight, etc. or whatever that "advantage" is...

Advantage=cheating...

So an advantage is cheating...so according to your logic, Hendrick is cheating because they're better then NEMCO? That makes Roush, Childress, Evernham, Red Bull, Gibbs, MWR and JTG cheaters. Which makes no sense...

Johnson and Knaus just click. Like Gordon and Evernham in the '90's.

NEMCO used to be a top-notch BGN team.

Hey, I'm not the one saying they have an advantage this time, you guys are.

First, fanboys say they are better. Then, say they have an advantage. Can't have both...

Haters have been saying the HMS has anvantage for a while but now fanboys say it and it's ok and all good.

Which is it?

If Gordon stayed with Bill Davis then Bill Davis Racing would be the 'cheaters', If Johnson was with Roush then Roush Racing would be the 'cheaters'. As Ricky Bobby puts it, "If you're not first you're last" - Bottom line winning is winning, and you have to look at the statistics for what they are. As much as I would have liked to see a different champion, Jimmie Johnson is and will always be the 2009 champion, and he'll always hold the record for the first driver with four consecutive championships. Same story in politics, majority of the country elects a president, but usually by the end of the term everyone is sick of him. Everyone is sick of seeing the #48 team in victory lane, on tv, and on top of the stats. It's racing. Some teams will always have more money than others and unfortunately the cost of fielding a car these days gives them an advantage. More so than the advantage of 'pushing the envelope'.

Yeah, it is unfair. The world is not a fair place. Fairness goes out the window whenever there is something to be gained.

NASCAR works because it has a level playing field the likes of which IndyCar and F1 will never see. That said, there IS wiggle room in the rule book, and it's every crew chief's job, including Knaus, to push that wiggle room to its farthest extent. Then, it's up to NASCAR to say "Hey guys, that's too far, we're not doing that (anymore)."

Sometimes NASCAR has to make forward-looking rules, and sometimes they have to make backward-looking rules in order to maintain said level playing field. Through all this, rules are bent, broken, and in some cases created because teams went in a direction that NASCAR didn't see coming. That's why there are varying degrees of penalties. With the least violation, you guys are ready to send people down the river as cheaters. They're not cheaters. If they were cheaters, they wouldn't be in NASCAR.

NASCAR doesn't have cheaters. NASCAR has competitors. There's a BIG difference.

Thanks! I might quote that in my sig.

Hey, you know I'm just pushing the envelope looking for that advantage in this debate.
