I was wondering if there is anybody (or some people) out there that could model cars that could be used for a NR2003 mod. I'm thinking about doing a mod based off of NASCAR cars from around 1955 (Dirt55 doesn't do it for me). I'd try to get good shots of the angles of each car (top, back, side, etc.), I already have Chrysler and Buick pictures. The 4 (or 5) models I was thinking about were:

1955 Buick
1955 Chrysler
1955 Ford
1955 Mercury
?1955 Cadillac?

Now, to anybody wanting to do this, I don't need extreme detail, just a general body style. There's still other car models that raced that year, I just felt that those 4 or 5 body styles would cover all of them.

I've tried doing this (new to 3ds), and it's pretty hard, partly because I don't really know where to go if I'd get one done. If somebody could give me steps from Max to NR2003 (I know that's a lot, too) that'd be a nice alternative! :) After trying this, I respect those that spend the time to make mods!

Well you would have to make 2 manufactures on the same body because NR2003 only supports 4 manufacturers.

Iirc, there can be 5, you'd just have to go through a bit more to get to that 5th body. If I had to, I could nix Cadillac.

I've never hit the limit on chassis idx, but there are "rules" to follow, it's probably best saved for offline use only.

Oh, my bad! I thought since there are the original 4 in the Cup mod, that only 4 would be available to use XD

There was actually a mod like that in the works, however due to events that've happened over the past 24-36 months the chances of it ever being finished & release are pretty much null & void.

nah you can use more but the game doesn't know what to do with generic/multiplayer missing paints, so it just crashes if the carfiles aren't in there, or sometimes doesn't draw the car at all which makes it a bit interesting trying to race a shadow.

So extra makes would show up in the car selection menu or is that part limited?

I think 4 only show up in the car menu/opponent manager so you'd have to edit the roster separately (via it's notepad file) & import the cars via WinMip2.

Atleast that's what I remember reading the other year.

yeah you just change the car make in winmip or hexedit the carfile directly, so for example if the mod has a carmakeidx 4 (which is model number 5 because the models start at 0), then you change the car make to 4 in winmip/hexedit and it'll show as designed.
