Does anyone own this card? I just received it today and it's underperforming big time. My Radeon Pro 9800 was getting twice the Fps.

So what settings should I be for this game? D3D or openGL? etc. etc....

I have it.. BFG version.

With N2003, if you are using NVIDIA, then you use OpenGL. ATI/Radeon is D3D. The images are smooth. Under the control panel, I have it set to best quality. Didn't bother changing the vsync, antialias, etc... everything works and runs great.

For frame rates, I'm using a digitial monitor with resolution at 1280. I'm generally locked in at 60 frames. Game is extreme graphics, and hardly ever see it drop to 58.

I'm not sure who told you this, but it isn't a certain truth. The NVIDIA cards not only work fine in DirectX mode, but the display also looks better (in NR2003) than OpenGL.

I have the XFX Nvidia 7800GT. I get about 60fps with all the video options maxed and 2X Antialiasing and Antistropic filter..

If I'm not mistaken, I read it i the readme files in the game. Absolutely not positive on that. I personally tried both and the pics I get with opengl, far outweight the D3D. The huge difference is in the pixel smoothness.

Sorry I didn't reply back on this guys, I had duty yesterday (military). The more I thought about it the more I realized I probably have old drivers, or my power supply isn't man enough. I'll try updated drivers first, get back to you guys on this.........thanks BTW.

IS, I tried to go through some of the txt files that came with the game and didn't see where d3d or opengl is preferred for which type of card. I didn't look at it all though.

But it did say that if you can't run opengl, then use d3d.

When googling the topic, I did come across a lot of sites where they said that OpenGL doesn't support ATI nor had the drivers for it.

I would say just try them both =)

Well new drivers run this game the same....about 20 fps. rFactor is a different story though. everything maxed out with 43 cars and everything on imaginable I'm running over 60 fps.

Something in your system isn't right then. What size processor? How much RAM? You should be getting about 3 times that.

I've got a 3.0GHz processor w/ 2GB of DDR 400 ram. I just added 1 GB to give me the 2 GB, before I took my old video card out I tested the ram to see what kind of a difference it would make. Tested using NR03 and I was getting upwards of 100 FPS, this was with an ATI Radeon Pro 9800. Installed the BFG 7800 GS and FPS dropped to 20 (Open GL and D3D). So I don't know what's up. I can run rFactor and MSFS X fine with all eye candy and everything perfect.
